Description

All I can start with is Wow! Bultaco 250 Metralla's little brother. This is an exceptionally clean and rare 1978 Bultaco 125 Streaker. (There was also a 74 cc Streaker as well) It is missing only a rear master cylinder is it's only real flaw. The phrase Barn Find (Picture with the dust) doesn't describe where the 125 Streaker was stored. It was sold new in 1987 from Aurbun Motor Sports. Auburn. Washington. USA. without a title just a bill of sale and no registration. It was housed in a dry heated custom motorcycle shop for the past decade. This rare Bultaco was only 1 of 28 imported to the USA from Spain. From my research there were more to be imported but due to the stricter EPA standards for two stroke street bikes. importing was halted. If many of you remember the Yamaha RD400F was the last of the big street two strokes in 1979 until the RZ350. (Yes there were some cute little "moped" two strokes Yamaha YSR50. Honda MB5. Kawasaki AR80)The Bultaco 125 has not been started or run in over a decade. Russ the owner would turn the engine over often enough to ensure the piston would be free. Always had good compression. It was recently detailed by a professional motorcycle detailer and collector. Thanks Harry! The 383 miles are original. The odometer was never set back. The speedometer is intact. I took many pictures to represent this museum piece to the prospective buyer. There are always some flaws as shown in the pictures but then again it become nit picking on this gorgeous little street/road racer. Looking at the contours of the gold frame it is of a minimalist (Think what a "Streaker" was from the 1970's if your old enough) design similar to many european engineered motorcycle like the Italian Ducati's. The tank and panels are fiberglass. the paint and stripes are exceptional. The seat is near flawless. The clubman bars and steering dampener is factory. The exhaust system is work of art for this era two stroke. The rims are Remco 2. 50 x 18" Front 2. 75 x 18" Rear with Michelin tires. Weight was 187. 4 lbs. Wheelbase 50. 78 inches. Seat height 29. 92 inches. 6 Speed constant mesh transmission. Front and rear disc brakes. Flywheel magneto (No Battery) Bing "84" 26mm carburetor. 13. 3 Bhp @ 9. 00 RPM's. Pure European representation! This rare motorcycle is being offered worldwide to be enjoyed by a discriminating collector who truly values history and the marque of street bikes that Bultaco produced. Again 1 of 28 imported according to the original sales ticket from the shop. Extremely rare. There have been two offers so far locally at $4500 which will be the starting price but not the reserve. It is up to the buyer to find shipping and insurance after the purchase. I will assist as much as possible in the shipping arrangements. There is a $500 no refundable down payment via paypal.
