Siegel hired three employees and banked everything he had into building the Moto Scoot. The Moto Scoot would become America's most popular motor scooter for the late 30's, eating out Salsbury and Cushman in sales... This is an early 1938 Moto-Scoot made by the Chicago MFG Co. Moto-Scoot was only in business from 1936-1947. The “Standard” model 3/4hp Lauson 4 stroke for that year cost $99.50, Deluxe” model had a 1hp Lauson and cost $111.50. Rarely do the early year Moto Scoots come up for sale. This model has a cast aluminum front fender and rear boat-tail section, ith a spring cushion seat for suspension and is a true bump start version, o clutch. You push it to get it started and hit the brakes to stop. There’s very few still known to exist, aybe 10-15 of this year. The scooter is restored back to her original glory down to the correct colors, ecals, in stripping, are one year only wheels and NOS Goodyear diamond tread 4.10/3.50-6 tires, eat, and controls, ights, ick stand, tc.
