Description

This is the third and last motorcycle I have to sell. The other two buyers were very happy with what they got and I’m sure the winning bidder in this auction will be also. This vehicle is located in Middletown. Connecticut. You are bidding on a Custom Built Softail Motorcycle. This Motorcycle cost $14. 00 to build. It was constructed in 2002 and features an Ultima 96 Cubic Inch Evolution Type V-Twin Engine and Rev-Tech 5 Speed Transmission with a Barnett Clutch. A Kraft Tech Frame with a 2" stretch and 34 degree rake sits behind a Paughco 3" over Wide Springer front end with a 21" American Racing 60 Spoke front wheel. In the rear is a 16" Sturgis Smoothie wheel with an Avon 180MM rear tire. It has GMA brakes front and rear and a very comfortable LePera Sorrento Seat. It got a new Big Boar battery two summers ago. The Motorcycle starts. runs and rides excellent and has a lot of power. It’s gone only 3500 miles. It passed CT DMV inspection with the equipment it currently has. and has a clear Connecticut Composite title. I’m pretty sure it would be street legal in most states. but check with your DMV about registering a composite vehicle before you bid. Standard parts were used everywhere replacements would be anticipated. You should have no problems getting a replacement part for this motorcycle. The build is fully documented with notes. pictures and part numbers of every part on the motorcycle and wiring diagrams. There are no major issues with operation of the motorcycle. The paint and chrome is still very nice. There is a blister in the paint on the tank but it is not a leak. I think some filler let go around a weld. It’s unchanged for eight years. Rivets in the front fender loosened up from vibration and the paint cracked a little around them. I regret having used stainless steel rotors. The brakes squeak a little. even with ceramic pads. They have some very nice 2-piece rotors now that look great and operate quietly. The Barnett clutch is pretty stiff to handle the power. You can get lighter springs if it’s too stiff for you. If you want to build a custom of your own I don’t think you could buy a decent engine and transmission for the starting bid on this motorcycle. If you don’t like the color. it’s just paint. Change it. If you want to come see the motorcycle e-mail me. Unfortunately there’s no current registration plate on this one. I would like to keep this motorcycle but my back can no longer take a foot forward riding position and I had to stop riding it. I was hoping my back would get better. but there is no sense in letting this motorcycle collect any more dust when someone could be enjoying the ride. Happy bidding.
