Description

"Straight Jacket" Motorcycle for Sale "The Straight Jacket" was built with only the best products the industry has to offer. This bike was featured in the January 2005 issue of "American Choppers". which is an Easyriders/Paisano publication. Also featured on the cover and inside the June 2006 issue of "Motorcycle Product News" and has made appearances numerous times in "The Horse" magazine. The bike was built to showcase Psycle Ward Products. The 1460cc "Pandemonium" panhead has S&S cases. rods and pistons topped with Jims tappets and pushrods. Andrews AB grind cams. and STD dual plug heads. complete with top end oilers. The spark comes from a Mallory Unilite electronic ignition and a free-breathing S&S Super E Carb. The alternator features a Harley Davidson stator. rotor and voltage regulator and an Accurate engineering oil filter mount in place of the generator. The panhead powers through a 6-speed transmission via a 4-inch Karata belt drive. with Barnett's Scorpion clutch and an A. R. T. hydraulic clutch cylinder. The chain. a 530 D. I. D. X-Ring. rides on an Exile sprocket/rotor brake assembly. The front end is made up of Perse trees with Pro-One lowers. The bars by Psycle Ward use a BDL hydraulic clutch and a cool Kennedy internal throttle combo. The Psycle Ward pipes are finished in flat black and covered with Thermo Tec exhaust wrapping. Three LED taillights are driven by a computer chip acting as a control module. The front hub has a brake rotor mount so a front brake can be mounted later if desired. Spoke wheels have CNC machined hubs laced with stainless steel spokes and rims finished in black chrome. then shod with Metzler Marathon tires (21" skinny in front and a 18" 240 out back). The seat is 11 ounce tooling leather with kangaroo stitching and closed cell neoprene padding. Finishing off the job is the House of Kolor candy and metal flake paint. topcoated with Dupoint clear coats. I have made some changes to the bike since I purchased it from its original owner/builder about 5 years ago (which the description above was taken from) and are as follows. the seat was removed and a simple metal seat pan was fabricated which does not extend all the way to the rear fender and was powder coated black. the original arrangement was set up for someone about 6-4" and I couldn't reach the controls (I am 5-9"). A front brake has also been added. I had a rear fender fabricated because I never liked the chrome one on it but I never painted and installed it so the chrome fender is still on the bike but the new one will come with it. Several inches were cut off the bottom of the rear chrome fender because it wasn't ride-able with it that close to the ground. the pipes have been wrapped and look fantastic. I turned one inch off of the belt drive as it was to close to the foot control and it is now ergonomically correct. I can not impress enough how well this bike runs and is virtually trouble free. only issue I have run into is the sprotor bolts tend to back out with time so you have to keep an eye on them. Being a new age pan. this bike is as trouble free as it gets. There is a damaged spot on the fin which houses the LED lights on the rear fender. I had a someone riding on the fender at a rally and hit a pot hole and the bolt which connects the fin to the fender creased the metal fin and paint (I have included a picture). The paint on the cylinders looks a little rough (I kind of like it. gives it the old pan look). it was like this when I got the bike and has not worsened as it has been stored in my basement. I feel like who ever painted them just didn't do that good of a job first go round. I reserve the right to end this auction early as the bike is for sale locally. Buyer is responsible for pick up or arranging and paying for shipping. I will consider delivering the bike for a small fee within 250 miles. This bike does NOT have a odometer on it but it can not have more than 3k miles on it. When I purchased it from the original owner it wouldn't even idle because the carb was jetted incorrectly so I am forced to believe it was never ridden. I was also told the bike had not been ridden and was only built to show. I on the other hand have ridden this bike and love it! So all of the mileage on this bike is mine. My only reason for selling is I am moving to Montana and prefer not to take it with me. I apologize for the poor quality and number of pics. if you will email me I will send you a zip file full of HIGHER QUALITY PHOTOS that I could not get uploaded to this auction. Thank you for viewing this auction. I will be happy to try to answer any questions you may have.
