2010 U-built. Model: Digger Offered here is my personally hand built mobile! I am a professional Machinist. and this bike took three years to build. It began life as a quarter scale drawing. and sat on my drawing board for six months as I tweaked the plan. All in all. from initial commitment to taking the first ride five years passed. Before any frame work could begin a fully machined frame jig was produced. All tube coping was performed on the mill for a gap-less pre-weld fit-up. All fittings. tabs. bungs were built to suit. The oil tank needed to be a certain size. a size you can’t buy. so a forming die was produced to press the domed . 100” 5052 aluminum ends. Then the oil tank ends were welded inside and out. The whole build proceeded in this way. no effort was spared. With 50 degrees of rake. and 8000 miles on the odometer. the 93 inch anniversary edition S&S Generator Shovel runs strong. The Baker 6 into 4 close ratio trans has the jockey drum. with 1st is up front. The ratios put a nice even spread between the gears. One off forks. frame. tanks. bars. etc. Fully TIG welded. and molded top to bottom. finished with green/gold candy and gold metal flake. I included a picture of the under seat. to show the level of finishing. the odo reset button can also be seen attached to the seat. This bike is in the details. hand built. and one of a kind. The winning bidder will also receive a digital photo album. containing several hundred pictures showing the production of most components. and their finishing. I will also include the original purchase receipts. Bidders should know this bike is not new and does have some cosmetic blemishes. The forks were built without a stop. Put the bike on its stand and lean the forks to the left. no problem. If you are moving it around the garage. know that the throttle cable adjusters will contact the tank. The chip can be seen on the right side of the gas tank in the photos. The paint has chipped on the rear fender at the sissy bar connection. at the rear axle adjusters. on the forks to the left of the headlight. and under the frame. Being the optimist. I think this is the beginning of a great patina. Please be aware that this bike is an experience to ride. the front brake is for show and doesn’t really do anything. The trees have 3. 5 degrees of rake built in. so there is very little fork flop. The bike is nimble. and maneuvers easily. You may notice that the levers on the bars are some distance from the grips. I had to widen the bars for the inspection. They can be narrowed 4 inches a side. by removing a pin. and pulling out the fully sleeved extension. Comes with front fender and associated mounts(not pictured). There are many unique hand machined features on this bike; they include. but are not limited to: Ø The frame is made from . 120” wall DOM tubing. fully TIG welded. dead straight. and certified. The axle plates are carefully shaped to emulate the look of molded. cast factory units. The lugs used to connect the axle plates to the frame are tapered; the sides are slightly concaved to catch the light. and fully drilled out to match the wall of the frame tubing. This approach not only saves weight. it also increases the strength of the frame. Ø The forks feature 3. 5 degrees of internal rake for excellent steering feel (almost no fork flop). the bike is very nimble and maneuverable. Ø The triple trees are pocketed for reduced weight. and improved looks. They were machined with a ball mill. on the rotary table. and have book-matched machining marks from left to right Ø Springer rockers pivot on Oilite bushings. and have oil ports. The spring sliders slide on Teflon. Ø Hand-made risers and z-bars. the front brake light wiring passes through the bars and. right riser. Ø Beneath the one off primary cover. is a unique torque brace connecting the engine and trans. It is made from 1” thick 6061-T6 aluminium. registers solidly on the engine. is adjustable. polished. and ties into the outer bearing support on the trans for a rock solid connection. Ø The wiring harness is neatly run externally on the frame and can be disconnected at key locations with properly crimped Molex connectors. Ø There is a unique finned oil filter mount with fin spacing matching the cylinders. and internal port blending for improved oil flow. Ø Polished 316 stainless fittings for the braided oil lines (the fittings are drilled out to match the inside diameter of S&S supplied fittings for unrestricted oil flow). Ø One off crankcase breather valve (in picture under trans) is a two piece unit that screws together. and seals with an oring. inside is a replaceable umbrella valve commonly used in the Evo motors. The engine pulls a good vacuum and idles well. Ø The adjustable custom trans plate is made from cold rolled steel. and is dead flat for solid drivetrain alignment. Ø The foot controls. clutch op gear. axles. spacers. sissy bar. and most small fasteners including the top motor mount. are one off. polished 316 stainless. Ø For the hex head fasteners. all the tops are machined to a very slight point and polished. Ø Ceramic coated wrapped handmade pipes. Ø The tanks are suspended on bushings (no hard mounting). the gas tank flush mounted. and finished with polished stainless spool inserts and fasteners. Ø Aluminum kickstand with one off dedent ball. rides on a fully machined stainless lug welded to the frame. works well. also polished. Ø Unique forward controls in polished 316 stainless. with hard anodized serrated 70 series aluminum foot pegs. Ø All cable and hose brackets are one off. Ø Bars have adjustable width. 4 inches a side. The extensions slip into the bar ends and secure with a roll pin. The bars are set wide in the pictures. but can be set quite narrow. to about shoulder width. Ø Battery box has a polished cover plate.
