1999 Ducati 748 / 916SPS Hybrid

For Sale: Every bike has its story and this is the short one for this beautiful bike. The previous owner was living in Singapore and he and his friend who owned a 1997 916 SPS (996CC Homologation Bike) were attending a trackday. His friend wadded up the SPS to the point it was not worth fixing. it was a cosmetic total. The guy bought his friends wreck and upon returning to the States he brought with him the ECU. Wiring. Motor. 50MM Throttle Bodies with Dual Injectors per Cyl and Triple Clamp Badge. He immediately purchased a brand new 1999 Ducati 748 and transplanted the 996 powerplant into this platform after acquiring the correct parts like the Mono Subframe for the P8 ECU and other small bits and pieces to make it all go together as it would have from the factory. This bike has some nice parts on it like the correct 50mm Full Termignoni exhaust. Gold Marchesini Magnesium Wheels. DP Rear Sets. Carbon Ram Tubes. Carbon Airbox. Carbon Sprocket Cover. Carbon Front Fender. Billet Case Breather. Ohlins Rear Shock with Hydraulic Preload. Aftermarket Clutch Slave. AFAM Quick change Rear Sprocket. I may have missed a few bits. The bike has had a full service including valves and belts. Fuel filter ( all internal pressure lines changed). New In Box Air Filter. Coolant Flush/Change. Brake Fluid Flush/change. oil and filter. and a new battery installed. Previous owner installed a full set of Mega Cycle Hard Chrome Rockers to protect the hard to find SPS cams. As you know this motor comes with SPS cams. Hicomp Pistons. Pankl Titanium Rods. Raccing Crank. Sandcast Cases. Close Ratio Gear Box and a few other goodies like large valves Ect. The bike is not perfect by any means but it is in VERY nice condition for a 16 year old bike. There are a few small chips on the fairings but nothing more than 1/8-1/4 inch. There is a small crack in the RH ram tube where the blinker was bumped and pushed back the carbon a tiny bit and some discoloration on the fairing from battery acid on the upper air vent on the LH side fairing. It took me 3 weeks to even notice that. It has 5650 miles on it which is nothing for a well built and maintained Ducati. Bike has been filled with Av Gas for storage while it is being sold so the injectors do not clog ect. It is also much better for the internal tank fuel lines because there is no Ethanol in it.
