I am the second owner from new. I have ridden this for 18 trouble free years. During that time I kept it maintained to factory standards and only made changes if they were for safety or performance reasons. The first upgrade was the installation of an after market front disc brake system to replace the Harley Davidson first year original system which left much to be desired in a panic stop situation. Next I installed an S&S Super 'E' carburetor. an Accel electronic ignition w/performance coil and Progressive Suspension adjustable rear shocks. The first owner's only change to the bike was the installation of a V-Twin primary belt drive. It has been essentially bulletproof and so it remains to this day. Starting in the winter of 2013 until the spring of 2014 I had contracted a sympathetic engine. transmission and gearbox rebuild by the Harley specialist shop Milwaukee Iron. I planned on being able to take this classic into the next 40 plus years of dependable riding! I did the 'break-in' mileage last summer and fall and it rides flawlessly. I also had a new set of Metzeler M888 Tourer tires installed last fall to go with the restoration. If you check out the photos you'll also see a beautiful set of Osprey handmade leather saddlebags with the Osprey quick release hardware system. They are great to have on longer trips when you might be carrying extra gear and they are included in the sale. The only work I didn't get around to doing was to have the 'tin' painted. The paint looks fine as it stands but a refresh is needed in the near future so I'm leaving that up to the next owner. A few years ago I was at an airshow. When I returned to the field where I had left the bike the attendant told me that he'd have made a fortune if he'd had a dollar for every photo that was taken of my old Harley. It has that effect on people and it's easy to understand. I've owned it for years and I never get tired of looking at it myself! I now live in the city and don't seem to get the time to ride as much as I'd like. I always felt the old girl rode best on winding secondary roads out in the country anyway. All work receipts and papers will be included in the sale. (Photos taken last autumn. 2014. during break-in mileage period. The bike is always kept in climate controlled storage during winter months)
