2008 Harley Davidson Night Train done as a 50’s style bobber

It is a feature in American Iron Magazine Garage Issue on the stands right now, o to Barnes and Noble or your local magazine rack and you can read more about it. They did a three page spread, f that is an indication of the quality.

There are so many parts and mods, will try to list them all, ut I am sure I will miss some. This bike is always the show stopper, ot for massive chrome, r LED flashing lights or intense paint. People who know bike builds surround this one and will ask questions all day long. People who don’t know bikes will stop and think you restored some antique…

First are the bars, hese are the big head turner. There are no wires or cables at all. I built these 1¼” Hollywoods to take an internal clutch and internal throttle setup from Exile and a Grip Ace button pad. They are completely clean and it blows bikers minds when I show them the twist clutch in the left grip and internal throttle in the right. The Front brakes are integrated with the rear on an oversized ¾” master to push enough fluid for both.

Next coolest wow factor is the exhaust, here is a butterfly cutout valve so you can pull on a pistol grip by your left leg and run full mufflers or wide open anytime. Again, his blows people away, should be a distributor for Patriot Exhaust based on how many of these systems I likely sold… The pull cable is my fabrication, he manufacture wants you to set it where you want and lock it down with a grub screw. I want to be able to change it on the fly anytime, nd I do. I live in a nice neighborhood and can roll in like a little Honda so my neighbors don’t get annoyed. On the road the two into one HUGE trumpet really rolls loud. The Vance and Hynes Fuel pack automatically tunes for this exhaust and it makes great power. The -2 under springer and -2 inch drop bolts put the bike low, fabed a new nose piece and flush welded new posts for the sprung seat to sit in, owering that another -2.5 inches. The forward controls are stretched another 3 inches and with floor boards. I am 6’1” and like the stretched leg look. If you are shorter, he extensions can be removed with a few hex heads and brought back to stock length. This thing looks mean and low.

The wheels are 16 inch wire laced with powder coated rims, t makes the tires look huge, love the look of the fat tires from WWII bikes. The rear is 200mm wide and the front is 4 inches wide, ood rubber.

The gauges and indicator lights are all built into the speedo pod on the bars. The original center console was just too tall and took away from the natural lines of the bike. I removed the console and built everything into the speedo cup. All indicators and LEDs are there.

The rear fender is a custom piece and because the old bikes had a push bar in the back, wanted to duplicate that with a “ridged” looking fender strut. Being a swing arm bike the fender does not move with the suspension so the fender strut is an illusion. There are sleeves the bar rides in at the swing arm, o the suspension still works, ut the fender struts look rigid.

Can’t go wrong with a 1928 ford tail light and license plate relocation.
