Description

1988 Harley Davidson FXLR.
Motorcycle was bone stock when I bought it last year from its original owner. I have ridden this motorcycle 4,000 care free miles. Ha Da title in my name- NOT asalvage!
Upgrades: I have had forks rebuilt w/progressive springs and new seals and 39mm fork brace, eplaced old starter clutch and rebuilt starter solenoid, pgraded to a later CV carb (carb is modded with drilled/polished slide), nstalled brand new $130 HD battery, ew starter clutch, ear progressive 412 springs, porty handlebars and 6" risers, addlemen "Profiler"seat, ini fairing, ay flatlicenseplate bracket, all sissy bar. Bike has stock mid controls and exhaust. All gauges work including the gas gauge.
Turn signals were removed- wires were cut- this is the ONLY modification to the wiring loom. Wiring is stock otherwise, o gremlins. I have recently noticed that the rear brake light does not work when using the front brake, found that the little button in the brake lever that operates the brake light switch hasdisappearedand will need to be replaced. I will include the turn signals in the sale.
Engine has 18k miles on it and runs fantastic and strong. ENGINE HAS NEVER BEEN OPENED BUT COULD USE A TOP END GASKET JOB! Bike is leaking from the front/rear rocker box gaskets, ase gaskets, nd alternator plug. I was going to do this over the winter and throw in a new cam but something else came up.
I have some stock parts for this bike including carb, elt guard, andlebars, nd turn signals- also included in sale.
STOCK PAINT. There are a few dings and blemishes in the paint but nothing major. Paint is very unique in that it has somewhat faded over time and left a really cool look; I get compliments on it all of the time. Wheels were painted black.... I used plasti-dip which can be removed at new owners will. I did not have to prep for paint by sanding/priming, o the wheels are mint underneath the plasti-dip.
I hope that you will love this bike as much as I do. I love it and want to keep it but I have another project currently.
