Up for sale is my 1973 Harley Davidson Sportster XLH1000 vintage Ironhead, ith 11,737 original miles. This is an original "numbers matching" motorcycle. Please note: This is a RIGHT SIDE SHIFT, lectric start motorcycle (no kicker). This bike is 42+ years old and looks the part with AWESOME patina. It sounds exactly how a vintage Harley should (straight pipes) and is a blast to ride! Chrome/plastic has pitting here and there, heels/spokes have surface rust, ins/paint has nicks-and-dings, tc (please study the nearly 2 dozen photos carefully for condition). Both tires are newer and have plenty of tread left on them. It has been on the road for pretty much it's entire existence. Never wrecked. This bike has been gone-over and everything works as it should; turn signals, tarter, ights (hi- and low), tc. The horn was working but wire connect recently became disconnected under headlight (simply 5 minute fix). I have made many upgrades/improvements (without altering the original stock look-n-feel), ndhave put nearly 400 weekend miles on itsince purchasing it several years back. For example: It has been returned to standard controls from bad, onky forwards; I installed a pillion pad and sprung solo seat; Recently upgraded the stock/original carb to a new S&S Super (runs and idles MUCH MUCH better); Replaced the front brake master cylinder; Added original Harley accessory 70's period correct, are/hard-to-find Buco(?) hard saddle bags with signal relocation kit; New grips, attery, tc., mong many, any other things to numerous to list (have all receipts winning bidder can have for review/reference). It has also been gone over -- on several different occasions -- by a local professional H-D mechanic here in town. Only selling bike as I have one too many other projects in line and now need the space in the garage. Time to pass it onto the next owner to ride as is or make it their own. I have gotten lots of comments on this bike at swap meets, tc., ver the years. Comes with original tool kit (shown in photo), 0's period correct fork tool bag and key chain, nd All pieces/parts replaced or taken off. Again -- please note -- this is a RIGHT SIDE SHIFT bike. Clean/clear MD title is "in hand." Please inquire with any questions you may have or swing by to take a look in person. I reserve the right to end auction early as the bike is listed locally as well. Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer but I will help out anyway I can. THANK YOU for taking a look! Happy bidding.
Forgot to mention: Bike has been sitting and has only been ridden a few miles since Late June. I recently had it to my H-D mechanic down the street to adjust the new carb (was running too rich) and to have a few bolts replaced on the rear wheel (nuts spun off). Those of you who are familiar with these old girls know they are Ride... Wrench... Repeat bikes. Rolled it out of the garage today to take the above pictures. It took 2-3 pushes of the starter button and she fired right up.
