Description

This bike, ith it's Anniversary Copper & Black paint job (0654 of 3000) is a top of the line, istinctive touring machine that has had substantial improvements made, nhancing reliability, omfort and fun. Owned by a single owner (me) the machine was in a bone stock configuration for it's first two years on the road. The machine has always been, ince day one, sed exclusively for long distance road trips & overnight travel.
During the 2010 and 2011 seasons IronWorks Magazine used this machine as a platform for demonstrating and installing the very best of what the aftermarket had to offer a long distance tourer who wanted "as stock" reliability and manners, ot rod performance and Barcalounger like comfort. This machine knocks it out of the park in those regards. since the pictures were taken, ts gotten a set of RIVCO airhorns added (great!) and I put the stock radio back in.
All of the modifications listed below have been made in the past 20,000mi. The chassis in total, as 41,281mi on it, his machine is fully baked, ot a thing left to do.
The engine is a beast, otally tractable (110HP, 26ft/lbs torque!) - is mechanically quiet and pulls pulls pulls. The entire, igh quality package works together flawlessly. The BAKER DD7 (yeah, hat's a picture of Bert himself installing this transmission @ Rosa's Cycles) is simply amazing, well done piece of machinery that allows the bike to travel down the road at high rates of speed, hile NEVER running out of steam. The engine/drivetrain/AIM lock-up clutch combo is exciting, bit like alchemy - the benefit is greater than the sum of the parts, he machine really is transformed into a sporty, ot rod tourer, he RaceTech custom shocks out back certainly help. Well, t least as sporty as a pig like the FLHX can be!
Why am i selling it? The answer is simple, just haven't been riding this enough to warrant the expense of keeping it registered and insured.
