1942 WR Harley-Davidson, Orig. as raced by Natl Nbr. Les Myers

Condition- motorcycle was raced as 1/2 mile, ile an hill climb, urrent cond. set up for 1/2 mile/mile.

features- Bike has Orig. Mag., arb, ng. cases, anks, ims, ender, eat, ear pad, ires (ft tire has orig. air),Bars/kill switch rear stand, rive chain. I have Orig. fender used for hill climb. I have photo of bike set up for hill climb. Only new parts, rake rod, ew rear tube

History- Orig. owner Les Myers, nd owner bob Colwell, Purchased the bike,from Colwellsome 20 Yrs. ago, ileage unknown, oth Myers an Colwell were Natl. Nbrs. I have a photo of Myers coming off the line on the WR. in Houston.Myers was listed in the Book, Motorcycles in Competition" in their "Gallery of Greats" In 1935 Myers rode his 74c.i Harleyfrom Wichita Falls Texas to Marion Indiana, trip the bike, nter the 80 ci class of thirty five riders, romthe USA &Canada, on his first Natl.set the fastest lap time for the TT mile1.57 flat, oaded up an rode the bike home. I saw Myers on the 45 WR go over hill at Mineral Wells Texas,said to be the only 45ci to ever go overwhat was called "The toughest Hill in the south". In 1963 at the AHRA Natl., reenValley Texas, watched two men slowly pushing a Red (Bad sounding)A/Fuel Harleyto the line, ehind them walkeda tall thinolder man slumped over, remember his leathers were taped at his boots, ecrawled onthe Harley an went inlow 10's. Evenin his late 60's he wasat his best. I was told he owned the first HD dealership in Texas, n took Delivery. of the 1942 WR, ne of only 6 made,in July/Aug of 1941, ext run of WRs was mid 1940's.Myers was the "go to man" for HD's support riders in the early days for Tex, K, M. Eng. case # WR 2XXX Belly case Nbrs. (match)41 1XXXX (all nbrs. orig.)

Frame looks Orig. No welds are cracks.Eng. cases show no welds are cracks. found one small chip on fin r-cyl

I have not tried to start Eng. but Eng. turns "free"I have cleaned Orig. plugs, ebuilt Carb. w/Orig. HD kit, ub. Orig. chain, lushed oil & gas tanks

Found one small weep in oil tank, n inside next to frame, elding is not a good fix in this case, epaired w/ Spec. fiberglass

Replaced tube in Orig. rear tire, ront tire & tube Orig. (orig. air )Early on, orks have been replaced (w/early) forks (lighter)

I met Les at a hill climb, am 76 now 30plusthen, e all look up to him, his special bike an is part of a Special Person.

To own this motorcycle is not "Ownership" it is a "Honor" if you end up with it you will understand in time.
