The original V-Rod had a 1,130 cubic centimetres (69cuin) Revolution Engine, roducing a claimed 115 horsepower at the crank. The V-Rod had 49mm forks and a 180mm rear tire, ith solid disc wheels. The VRSCAs were all factory equipped with 3.7 US gallons (14l; 3.1impgal) fuel tanks. The VRSCA was only offered with forward controls.
The Revolution engine is based on the VR-1000 Superbikerace program, eveloped by Harley-Davidson's Powertrain Engineering team. It is a liquid-cooled, ual-overhead-cam, nternally counterbalanced 60degree V-twin engine with a displacement of 69 cubic inches (1,130cc), roducing 115 horsepower (86kW) at 8,250rpm at the crank, ith a redline of 9,000rpm.It was introduced for the new V-Rod line in 2001 for the 2002 model year, tarting with the single VRSCA (V-Twin Racing Street Custom) model.
