Description

Up for sale is my 1966 Harley Davidson Shovelhead full show custom chopper. I built this as a digger style bike using either the nicest vintage parts I could find or the best new parts. This bike was built as my invited builder bike for the Born Free 4 chopper show. It was photographed by world famous motorcycle photographer Michael Lichter. and the shots were used in a full feature in the 40th anniversary issue of Street Chopper magazine. In addition to being an invited builder bike for Born Free 4. this bike was in the Michael Lichter Exhibit in Sturgis at the Broken Spoke. was an invited bike to the Mama Tried bike show in Milwaukee. and is a multiple show winner. including best full custom bike at the IMS show in Minneapolis last year. The foundation for this frame is a very rare Arlen Ness big twin digger frame from the 70's. with a matching Ness high-bend wishbone springer. The wheels are rare Kimtab magnesium wheels. the front is the 1/2-year only coveted 21" wheel. the rear is an 18". Motor is a full show polished 1966 Harley Davidson shovelhead FLH. Clean title as a 1966 Harley Davidson. The cylinders. heads and rocker boxes were hex cut at an angle all the way down. Rocker boxes are made by Throwback MC Parts out of northern California. Motor is a 84" stroker. it is stock bore with S&S 4. 5" stroke flywheels. Show polished S&S E-carb with a custom-cast Chopper Dave air cleaner. Morris magneto for the ignition. Solid lifters and a Andrews B cam. This engine is fast as hell. and the bike starts and runs like a champ. It has less than 400 miles on it after being built by Kokesh Motorcycles in Minnesota. I had Kiyo from Kiyo's Garage in Gardena. California go through and fine tune the motor as well. Transmission is a fully polished original harley ratchet top. Belt drive and clutch are Primo Rivera. The rest of the bike was hand built by me with help from some talented friends. The gas tank and fender are fully molded to the frame. and are completely handmade. The gas tank holds about 3/4 of a gallon. perhaps a little more. With the stroker motor. you get about 18 to 20 miles per tank. A true bar-hopper! But you get there in style. and fast! Rear fender also incorporates the oil tank (you can see the fittings coming off of the fender). Gorgeous paint was done by The Harpoon. Seat is all handmade by Jordan Dickinson of Union Speed and Style. The box under the seat holds a tiny battery and houses the switches for lights and a kill switch for the magneto. Handlebars. foot controls. fender struts. top motor mount and pipes are all handmade. Pipes are all stainless. Hand controls are vintage Performance Machine. Left control is for the hydraulic clutch (which uses a A. R. T. vintage clutch cover) and right control activates one of the two vintage early cast Performance Machine Calipers. with the other obviously operated by the foot control. Primary cover is an original MPD finned primary that my friend Rick machined to be narrower and with all the cutouts. There is a lot more I could tell you about this bike. but I will let the pictures do the talking. This bike is a great runner. It is in fantastic shape. but has a few scuffs in the paint here and there from being ridden. Please look closely at the pics and ask any questions. I have tons of money in the parts and countless hours in the fab and machine work on this bike. Someone is going to get a phenomenal deal on this. I will ship worldwide on your dime. I expect a downpayment of $500 after the auction ends and the rest via whatever method we work out within 3 days. Happy to work with a reasonable buyer on payment terms and helping with shipping. Thanks!
