Hi. thank you for taking a look at my auction. I am selling a 1971 Harley-Davidson FX Super Glide. This bike has been part of a restoration and is around 90% finished after being in storage for over 15 years. The bike has very low mileage at only 9049 original miles. Bike is numbers matching and mostly stock. I have added some chrome replacement parts here and there and polished some of the original aluminum. I still have all the original parts that were replaced and those are included In the sale. All original mechanicals have been retained. no modifications to the drive train. Still has mechanical brakes. 4speed tranny. 1200cc motor. kick start only. sportster front end. and "boat-tail" rear fender. The bike is eye catching and original. Not many are left any longer and definitely will spark a conversation. Sadly I don't have the time to finish it and need to make space for current projects. Believed by many to be the first "factory custom". the bike was designed by grandson Willie G. Davidson by combining the FLH Electra glide chassis and rear suspension and adding a sportster front end. Willie then added a 1200cc motor and a European inspired "boat-tail" rear fender with striped graphics that were the rage in the '70's. At the time. the bike didn't sell well. and its said only around 4700 were produced before production was halted. making this a rare bike. I have most of the parts needed for completion such as the taillight for the rear fender. original and replacement front fender. and other misc. pieces. The tanks and rear fender were repainted with the stripping painted on. not decals like original. but I do have a decal set that I purchased off ebay that will also be included if desired. Buyer is responsible for pick up in Bakersfield. CA. and for finishing the bike. Bike is sold as is. Payment will need to be made within 48 hours of auction ending. I reserve the right to end auction early. as I also have it listed locally. Any questions. please message me and I will answer ASAP. Thank you. *For those bidding on my previous ad of this bike. Ebay pulled it down. I had it in the wrong suggested category and received an email that it was pulled down. Again I am sorry to the previous bidders.
