Honda CBX 1000 1979 SUPER SPORT

This is a 1979 Honda CBX 1000 six cylinder with a very low vin number and with only 12600 miles. Professionally repainted to match the original candy glory red like it was from the factory. Pictures don’t do it justice. This was a frame off restoration. The frame was powder coated as well as the engine motor mounts. swing arm. handlebars. battery box. tail light bracket. headlight bracket. and many more brackets etc. Engine has new rings. cylinders honed. valves lapped and the valves set to the proper tolerances. Carbs completely rebuilt. The alternator was rebuilt with new brushes and bearings. Brake master cylinders rebuilt with new front reservoir and new brake pads. Rebuilt front forks with new fork seals. Exhaust is in good shape with NO rust but does have two minor dents in it that are barely noticeable . New spark plugs. Fresh oil change with filter. Gas tank is good and clean and does NOT have any sealer in it. Brand new NOS Honda mirrors. New o ring chain. Battery is just one year old and is a AGM style. new tires. Most of the fasteners were bright zinc coated like they were from day one. The engine runs great and shifts thru all gears without a problem. The clutch does rattle. as all of these CBX’S do. but not excessively. I have had about 20 of these bikes and this one is no different. The engine does NOT smoke or leak any oil at all. I have run this bike around 200 miles since the restoration and I have gotten all the kinks out of it. This bike was my winter project and I spent lots of time to get it in this great condition.
