1985 Honda VF1000R

Here is your chance to own a piece of superbike history! Every year these bikes are becoming rarer and rarer. it's hard to find a complete original VF1000R like this anymore. I purchased this bike three years ago from the second owner. The clutch master cylinder had failed and he had let the bike site for 9 years. I rebuilt the clutch master cylinder and added a new AGM battery with battery tender leads. nbsp;cleaned. rebuilt and jetted the carbs and put the bike back in service. I’ve put about 500 miles on it in the last three years. Over that time I replaced the OEM turn signals with smaller LED’s properly jetted (stage 1) the carbs for the vintage Kerker slip-ons. added a K&N airfilter and NGK Iridium plugs. I’ve been running synthetic oil in it and I used a K&N oil filter on it. The bike runs great. everything works including the fuel pump and radiator fans with the exception of the adjusting knob for the rear shock. I also found and installed a 1986 headlight assembly with OEM mounting brackets and I added the proper relays to the circuit for the additional electrical load. The bike has the OEM tool kit in the original bag which are really rare. and includes the original owners manual. and a repo factory shop manual. The last tool kit I saw go on eBay sold for over $250! This bike is 30 years old. it’s not a museum piece. but a really nice complete. original rider. It has a little patina. and a few stains and wear marks on the frame. Rear tire has about 10% tread left. The front tire is like new. It doesn’t leave any drops on the garage floor. The paint is glossy but there are a few scratches on the fairing. one small crack. and a small piece missing by the right front turn signal from the previous owner dropping it in his garage. Since the fairing is fiberglass these are easily repairable. The seat is in great shape.
