1981 Honda XL185 S

All original. even the tires and chain. I bought this bike in I think 1983 as a new old stock bike from a dealer in Rapid City SD. it spent about 15 years mostly parked at our vacation home where it got used maybe a few times per year. I eventually sold the bike to a buddy who would ride it a few times per year. he would ride a few miles out of town and then putt along the gravel roads looking for wild asparagus. other than that the bike would sit in his garage. I bought the bike back from him when my wife expressed an interest in riding. so I went through the bike. amazed to find it to be in near perfect mechanical condition. still looking as it did when I'd sold it 15 years earlier. With the exception of a broken turn signal and some scratches. This bike has always been kept inside of a garage. oil changed. tires aired up etc. it has never been ridden hard. abused nor beaten in any way. It has been dropped. I have no doubt. but not crashed hard. This bike is over 30 years old and shows some oxidation on the aluminum parts. the paint has some scratches. the turn signal was broken and has an ugly repair. everything works. it starts easily and runs great. It may have a smaller front sprocket that my buddy may have put on (he doesn't remember) so he could idle along the roads. The odometer reads 385. this is not accurate. the speedo worked when I sold it but didn't when I got it back. the speedo gear was missing when I pulled the front wheel off. I'm guessing my buddy had a flat. pulled the tire off and lost the speedo gear. I have replaced it with a new one and the speedo/odo works fine now. If I had to guess I would say this bike has about 1. 00 miles+- on it. I prefer local pick up but will assist with meeting the buyers shipper. The bike must be paid for in full prior to shipping. all funds cleared. I am willing to store the bike for 14 days after the auction close. Shipping is the buyers responsibility.
