1976 Honda TL-250

You are looking at one of the finest Honda TL-250's anywhere. The "TL-250" was made for two years only. 1975 and 1976. This was in the height of the Trials riding era. Honda made a TL-125 for three years. while the TL-250 was made for just two years. As with all 1976 TL-250 models. this bike is "Silver and "Shiny Orange" (as Honda officially called it). It is powered by a 248cc four-stroke motor which puts out a rather modest 16hp at 8000rpm. However. this bike is all about details and finesse. Its five-speed transmission is very unique to this motor (no other 250 had it). The first three gears are very low and you do not amount to much speed until you shit to fourth and fifth gears. In addition to it being is a wonderful "trials" bike. it is a great "trail" riding bike as well. Frankly. most were used for that purpose anyway. About this bike . . . I purchased this Honda six years ago at the Mid-America motorcycle auction in Las Vegas. What I clearly knew at that time was the detail and high level of attention that this TL-250 received in its restoration is among the best I have ever seen on anything. What I found out after my purchase (and through my visit with the owner/restorer) was a resounding validation of my observations. For respect of privacy. I will not mention the name of the owner/restorer. but certainly will do so when this bike sells to its new owner. He without exception likely knows the TL-Series better than anybody. Anyway. living in Colorado. this gentleman purchased a TL-250 brand new in the mid 1970's and has been in love with them since. He knew the TL-250 to the very last detail and is by nature and livelihood a craftsman. With his knowledge and his skill. this gentleman must clearly be the best restorer of the Honda TL-250 model anywhere (my observation). With this bike comes a seven page overview description of the 1975 and 1976 Honda TL-250. written by this gentleman. More impressively . there is an additional seven page description with a cover page of "Restoration Details" on this particular bike written by the same man. This includes a complete overview of all the restoration work done AND every part and part number of any new part that was used. The paper detail that goes with this bike is just as impressive as the restoration. Of course. included is an owners manual - as well as a shop manual. To top it off. this bike comes with a WA State title. Very seldom will a purchaser of a off-road trials bike come with a title. The new owner will be able to likewise title the bike in their name. If you have a keen interest in the Honda TL-250. or are just a collector or a connoisseur of fine machinery. a serious look at this offering is strongly advised. Thank you!As a side note.
