Honda Elsinore MR50 / CR50 Custom built in the style and spirit of the original legendary 1973 & '74 Elsinore CR's. This is the way that Honda should've produced the Baby Elsinore. Look at the pictures! This bike features: Single downtube/wishbone cradle customized original frame Aluminum rims. black hubs Black painted engine Beveled cylinder head fins Custom downswept performance exhaust - sounds incredible! Front fender mud flap Shifter. brake pedal & kickstarter are all custom fabricated CR style. They look great & work perfectly. Many new parts. Some very good condition original parts. Virtually everything else was sandblasted and painted or otherwise restored. New items include: tires. seat foam and cover. cables. grips. levers. spokes. fenders. number plates. decals and more. Beautiful gray / green CR paint scheme (professionally painted and clear coated tank. number plate and side panels). The tank is very clean inside. like new condition. Again. look closely at the pictures. they speak volumes. Built by a long time motorcycle enthusiast. racer and degreed mechanical engineer. This is not a perfect 100 point show bike but is an extremely nice specimen. This is one sweet mini-Elsinore that would fit right in with even the most pristine of Elsinore collections. You have never seen one even close to this level of detail. Do not let this one pass you by! To be 100% honest and up front. here are the very few things I know of that I feel should be disclosed: There is no title. probably never had one. The frame. now modified. carries VIN # MR50 - 1008810. The engine is stamped MR50E - the rest is illegible and appears to have been defaced. It was that way when I bought it on E-Bay a few years ago (although it was not disclosed). Compression feels good and the piston is stamped 025. The kill switch is original and works fine. It does have a little chunk missing from the red button/knob. I cannot promise the jetting is spot on. but for sure it is close. The exhaust pipe is custom fabricated and totally different than stock. To compensate I did raise the carb needle (clip position) and the plug burn looks decent. It starts easily cold or hot and sounds crisp and clean bottom to top. To perform a proper jet test you need to run a bike under reasonable load. As I weigh 210 pounds and don't own a dynamometer. nor do I know any 80 pounds brats that I would trust to ride this bike. you'll have to settle for my version of "close enough" or tickle it yourself. There are some great resources out there that can likely help. I don't think it's far off. and it might even be right on. The clutch works properly and feels strong. the transmission shifts smoothly as it should. There are no leaks from the engine or transmission or suspension. Again. without a brat test rider. I can't promise it will wheelie in third gear and soak up the doubles at Loretta Lynn's. If any of this concerns you. please don't bid. For an additional modest fee. I will build a wooden shipping crate if interested. I am glad to work with the eventual buyer to simplify shipping in any reasonable way I can. Contact me with any questions.
