Description

I SPENT THIS LAST WINTER BUILDING THIS LITTLE CB AND IT TURNED OUT FANTASTIC. THIS IS A TRUE 995 MILE BIKE THAT HAD BEEN IN STORAGE FOR MANY YEARS. LAST USED IN 1979. I MADE A FEW CHANGES THAT I THINK LOOK AND FEEL BETTER WHEN YOU RIDE BUT YOU COULD PUT IT BACK TO STOCK WITH JUST A LITTLE WORK. I CHANGED OUT THE BARS TO HONDA CB 400 AS THEY ARE MORE COMFORTABLE AND LOOK SO MUCH BETTER. I DO NOT LIKE THE BIG OLD TURN SIGNALS SO SMALLER IS SO MUCH BETTER. THE SEAT WAS A PERSONAL CHOICE BUT IT IS BUILT ON THE ORIGINAL PAN SO YOU COULD ALWAYS PUT IT BACK ORIGINAL. IT STILL HAS THE ORIGINAL EXHAUST THAT IS PERFECT NO RUST OR HOLES ANYWHERE. THE PAINT IS SPECTACULAR AND THE TANK IS PAINTED STRIPES NO DECAL. MY PAINTER IS A MASTER. HE EVEN PAINTED THE UNDERSIDE OF THE TANK GLOSS BLACK. UNDERSIDE OF THE SEAT IS ALSO COVERED. THE ENGINE WAS REMOVED AND THE FRAME AND OTHER BLACK PARTS POWDER COATED. THE ENGINE WAS RESEALED BY A HONDA MECHANIC AND CHECKED FOR ANY WEAR. HE SAID IT DID NOT LOOK LIKE IT HAD BEEN RUN. ALL RUBBER PARTS REPLACED AND THE FRONT SUSPENSION WAS TOTALLY SERVICED AND LUBED. NEW SEALS, IL AND BEARINGS SERVICED. THE ENGINE WAS POWDER COATED SILVER AND BLACK. THIS BIKE STARTS AND RUNS LKE A NEW HONDA SHOULD. SHIFTS PERFECT AND STOPS ON A DIME. I AM SURE I HAVE FORGOTTEN THINGS BUT YOU WILL BE PLEASED WITH THIS BIKE. IGUARANTEE YOU WILL WIN A TROPHY AT THE FIRST SHOW YOUENTER. LOCATED IN COMBINE, EXAS JUST 20 MILES EAST OF DALLAS. I HAVE BEEN RESTORING OLD HONDAS FOR ABOUT 8 YEARS, SUALLY THE CB750. I HAVE DONE SEVERAL CL'S AND A COUPLE OF CB 450'S. MORE INFO CALL 214-354-6333 MOST ANYTIME.

I HAVE HAD A COUPLE OF QUESTIONS ABOUT THE ORIGINAL PARTS. I DO HAVE THE TURN SIGNALS AND THE ORIGINAL HANDLE BARS. THE ORIGINAL SEAT PAN IS ON THE BIKE. IF YOU PREFER ORIGINAL I COULD SURE PUT IT BACK THAT WAY. IT WOULD NOT HURT MY FEELINGS. NO PROBLEM CHANGING THE SEAT BACK I WOULD JUST GET A REPLACEMENT AND RECOVER IT. THIS SEAT COST ME $400 TO BUILD. IF YOU SAT ON IT YOU WOULD UNDERSTAND. I HAVE BUILT SEVERAL OF THESE TWIN HONDAS BUT THIS ONE IS EXCEPTIONAL YOU WILL BE AMAZED HOW WELL IT RUNS AND LOOKS. IDLES AT 700 RPM VERY SMOOTH.
