For your consideration is the rare very sought after Beautiful original 1971 Honda CT70H 4 speed. I will do my best to give a complete and thorough description, ut being human can be subject to error. Please look at all the pictures I have provided and ask any questions you might have before placing a bid. This is an original 1971 CT70 4 speed bike in extremely good condition. Let me start off with what I know not to be original. First,the fuel lines appear to have been replaced and they used colored zip ties at the carb to hold them on. I have since purchased the correct clips and will install them. Second the foot pegs appear to have been repainted. Third the rear inner tube appears to have been replaced because it has a 90 degree valve stem instead of the straight factory installed one.With the exception of the 3 previous items I believe this bike to be completely original. So now about the rest of the bike.The bike starts right up drives straight and shifts good. The horn, igh and low beam, rake light, nd speedo all work as intended. The paint is still extremely nice with almost zero fade and even consistency but does have some minor flaws such as scratches and chips. The headlight bucket is intact free of any of the usual cracks but does have some of the typical cable rubbing and a small spot where it has faded slightly. The chrome is in great shape for its age and is exceptionally clean. It does have some very light patina you get over time but almost zero rust. I did polish the triple clamp, oints cover and cam chain cover with Mothers polish to clean them up. The seat pan is in great condition with no cracks. The seat is still nice but does have some small rips you can see in the pictures. I believe the small rips didn't warrant replacing the seat cover and taking away from the originality of the bike. The cables are all in nice condition and function as intended. The tires are original Trail Wings with minimal sidewall checking.The bike comes with a California title and Street Legal License Plate. It is currently in Non-Op status with the DMV system since 2009. If you live in California and choose to put it back on the road it will cost approximently $81 per the DMV website.You will also receive 1 key. Overall I think this bike will make any collector proud and to find one with the paint and chrome in this condition is getting harder and harder. You will notice most of the bikes in this condition these days have always been restored. The color is almost always off do to the fact people use non factory paint. Though these restored bikes are beautiful and many times look nicer then new bikes, hey are still not original and many times contain many re-pop or cheap china parts.I always say" A bike can be restored over and over again making it nicer then new. But an original can only be that way 1 time and to a true collector will be much more valuable." Yes this bike isn't cheap but compared to the restored bikes which commonly exceed 5K it's a bargain.Happy Bidding
