Description

1986 Honda CMX450C Rebel 450 with all of 5k:

I saved this bike form someone who was going to 'customize' it - that means he was going to get his hacksaw out and chop-off various parts of it and maybe glue some plastic skulls on it or something. After rescuing it I gave it the things it needed:

  • New Kenda tires
  • New Honda fork seals and fork oil
  • New Honda fuel valve
  • Carburetor cleaning
  • Replacement Yuasa battery
  • New NGK spark plugs
  • Oil change with a Honda filter

The bike runs great and drives perfectly with its new tires and re-worked forks. The fuel tank is beautiful and there is no rust inside of it. The seats are perfect, oft to the touch with no cracks or tears. The controls, lutch and throttle action are buttery smooth - like a new bike. The mufflers and exhaust pipes are in near-new condition and have never been modified. Mileage was 4,990 when I finished it's recent service and I've run a little more than one tank of gas through it since then, urrently has 5,140 miles on it. A Clymer service manual is included, and I have a windshield around here somewhere for it.

There are only a few things I can find fault with on the bike, ere they are: The trip meter refuses to work. The rear turn signals are not original. The paint on the front fender is not perfect. There is some slight pitting on a few of the chrome parts. Please study the pictures and video - the bike is overall in excellent condition, ut these are its short comings.

I believe this bike is one of the best first motorcycles around: easy to control with a low seat height and linear predictable power delivery. It has much longer legs than it's 250cc cousins. Many years ago the girl in the video and I took a 2,000 mile bike trip - yes, he rode her Rebel and I rode my Gold Wing. You can meet her when you come to get the bike, ou'll recognize her from the video. Anyway, hat's not a trip I would recommend on a 250. In our opinion the 450 is a bike you can live with - a 250 is a decision you'll have to live with.

I invite you to call me if you have questions. I am passionate about motorcycles and in particular Hondas of this vintage. I'd be glad to take your call. If you have a question about this bike I will most likely know the answer, nd honestly I'd rather keep the bike than sell it to someone who it won't be a good fit for, r to someone who wants to modify this little survivor.

Be sure to watch this nerdy YouTube video of the bike, and feel free to call me with questions of any sort at 3l9 3lO O45l. Thanks!

P.s.The 450 of hers that I mentioned? We sold it a few years ago. I sold it right here on ebay. It went to a couple in New York State, hey opted to have it delivered. If you look through my feedback seven pages deep you'll see a comment left for an item - Honda : Rebel. That was her 450!
