This is IT if what you want is a true 40 year old survivor, historic motorcycle that has never been abused or bastardized in any way; a rare opportunity in a finite universe of café racers and modified, eat up “vintage” Honda CB 750s. I bought this motorcycle 5 years or so ago. It had 1400 original miles on it; I was told it had been stored in a barn in Lenexa, ansas by the original owner for nearly 30 years. The motorcycle had a slight “tweak” in the handlebars (but no grip damage) and some surface rust spots here and there. The wheels and exhaust were rusted to the point that I decided to replace them. I left the handlebars “as is.” The OEM Bridgestone tires were essentially brand new from a tread standpoint but were still 35 years old, o I replaced them and the tubes. The front and rear fenders had some surface rust that I couldn’t polish out so I had them professionally re-chromed by Chromemasters in Nashville. The motorcycle was, s far as I could tell, 00% original when I bought it. The few OEM parts that I replaced during my light “cosmetic” restoration were kept and are being sold with this motorcycle.

Some highlights for those of you “in the know” on how to value these classics:

Both OEM Honda keys are included.

The original Honda “Temporary Warranty Registration” card is included showing a purchase date of 5/23/75 with 1.5 miles on the odometer.

The original Honda “Warranty Policy and Recommended Maintenance Schedule” booklet is included. It is in very good condition.

The original “Odometer Mileage Statement” identifying “Midwest Cycle Co., nc.” as the retail seller and dated 5/23/75 is included.

The original side covers have no chips or cracks in the plastic.

The original fuel tank is in very good condition with no dents (a few minor scratches and chips).

The original fuel cap is in very good condition (the “recall” cap has NOT been installed) (I did install a new cap gasket).

The grips are original and in very nice condition.

The original tool kit and bag is included – no tools are missing and it looks to me like none of the tools have ever even been used. The kit bag has no tears or cuts.

The original owner’s manual is still in the original Honda “ziplock” type bag – the manual does not appear as if it has ever been out of the bag.

The original tachometer and speedometer are in good condition, he trip odometer reset knob is in place and works.

The original seat cushion is in perfect, rand new condition with no tears or scratches.

It has brand new tubes/tires (The original 1975 tires and what I believe to be the original Bridgestone “made in Japan” tubes are also included).

An unused, OS HM341 exhaust systemhas been installed. This is what was used on these CB’s when new and mine was purchased in and shipped from Japan (Motorcycle Yamiya). NOS HM341sare exceedingly rare, ERY hard to find and VERY expensive. (The original 1975 HM341 exhaust system is also included).

It has two brand new D.I.D. OEM Honda wheels with new spokes that I bought from CMS in the Netherlands (The original 1975 wheels and spokes are also included).

It has a new battery.

Many of the originally torqued fasteners still contain undisturbed, EM factory yellow “torque” paint splashes.

The OEM sticker/labels are in great to good condition, ncluding the “Helmet Holder” sticker on both sides of the seat, he “Engine Oil” sticker on the right side plastic cover, he battery “Caution” label under the seat, he “Honda exhaust” sticker on the swingarm, nd the “Preserve Nature” sticker on the fuel tank.

I removed and cleaned the carbs (float bowls and jets); the float bowl gaskets and the gas hoses were replaced.

The turn signals (with "beeping"), rake light, eadlight high beam, nd horn all work. The front disc pad and rear brake shoes are OEM and barely worn. I did clean the front brake piston and cylinder and put a new seal on it. The shoes and drum were cleaned as well.

The motorcycle runs very well, s it should with only 1600 miles on it. The engine, ubs and front forks (aluminum parts) are pitted with a 40 year old patina on them. I did not try and polish this out; it is as I found it when I bought it, ut my opinion is that, f you were so inclined, he aluminum could be polished and/or clear coated to look “new.” I liked the “old” look so left it as is. The frame and attached steel parts (i.e. kickstands, hain guard, tc.) are all OEM and 40 years old, o they have some surface rust here and there. Some of the “plastic chrome” and OEM chrome is also pitted as well, asically what is to be expected for an original 40 year old motorcycle that sat in a barn for 30 years. It has been garaged by me for the last five years.

The motorcycle has a clean Florida title.

Let me know if you have questions, ’ll work hard to get you answers or photographs of anything specific you want to see. 816-808-9944 (Doug).

The motorcycle is located in the Florida panhandle near Destin. Shipping is the auction winner’s responsibility, ut I can assist with loading.

NOTE: I was asked if the gas tank was sealed internally or not. It is sealed; I bought it this way. I do not know what the sealant material is, ut it is whitish in color.
