Description

2003, onda Goldwing ABS – Checked out, nd exceptionally clean.

My Goldwing is extraordinarily clean, nd is Honda’s most popular color; Honda calls it “Hot Rod” yellow and it’s absolutely beautiful. My bike has been very well maintained by a professional motorcycle mechanic. It’s low-mileage for a Goldwing, nly 70,601. - I am the second owner and got it from a retired guy in Phoenix. Even though I’m a stout 70, t’s still too big for me. My loss is your gain.

The guy I got it from bought it brand new, nd always had it “dealer-serviced” with fresh oil and filters, very 3,000 miles - always with Mobil-1 synthetic. When I got it, did the same. – It has a set of new Honda spark plugs, ew K & N oil/air filter, adiator recently flushed, nd replaced with new Honda coolant, rake fluid flushed and replaced with new Honda Dot-4. - All nuts/bolts/and fasteners were checked and either tightened up, r (where necessary), orqued to factory specs. There are no leaks of ANY kind, NY-where. Going with the bike is a new MP-3 music system that replaced the ‘problem-prone’ CD-Changer. The ONLY blemish on the bike is on the right-rear saddlebag; three small dots, bout the size of a match-stick end, rom where my bicycle fell next to it. Also, f I was going to keep it long-term, ’d put new tires on it, ust for the ‘confidence-factor’ alone.

I had the bike returned to ‘Factory Specs’ with new:

-brake pads, ront/rear
-bearings, ront/rear
-spark plugs, iridium)
-K & N air filter
-K & N oil filter
-Mobil-1 Synthetic oil

Here’s how “Road Runner” magazine (a ‘touring-bike’ reference magazine) put it…
“…This really is an amazing machine. From the moment the starter breathes life into the big 1832cc flat six, here's a feeling that an incredibly competent power plant is at work below. Even in the parking lot, he car-sized engine shows incredible grace. The twin 40mm throttle bodies feeding the high-pressure programmed fuel injectors respond adeptly to the subtlest input from the throttle. Once underway, he big six really begins to shine. Power is the least of your worries once this Wing takes flight. The completely unique sound emanating from the stainless steel six-into-two exhaust system absolutely exhilarates, et remains well inside the civilized range of the decibel meter. Like a martial arts master, he Gold Wing doesn't need to announce her prowess to everyone within earshot. Just lay on the gas and she jumps with a motivation bettered only by machines with clip-ons and racy graphics.

The engine's splendid performance is matched with an equally impressive slick shifting 5-speed overdrive transmission that spins the rear wheel via a maintenance-free drive shaft. Despite being loaded down, wo up, nd grinding through high mountain passes, he hydraulic-assist clutch never wavered in keeping the power on the ground. Initially, was a bit apprehensive about a touring bike having only five gears. Yet after a couple thousand miles on the Interstate, can attest that the sixth gear is not at all missed. Should you really need a sixth gear, ive that honor to reverse: Yes, ndeed, his Wing has a reverse. It's not a gear in the traditional sense because it runs off the starter motor. You simply hit the button that actuates the reverse system and thumb the starter. It moves a bit slowly, ut no one needs to be on two wheels moving rapidly backwards. On a bike the size of the Gold Wing, t's surprising how often this little gem comes in handy…” – Chris Myers
