This bike has a new Corbin one-up seat. It has a Windvest windshield that can be removed in minutes if you decide you want to ride without it. I have the highway pegs on the bike as well so you can stretch your feet out on the road. I took the bike to Tom Prewitt at Damon's Motorcycle Creations in Brea and asked him to help me make the bike more sexy than the black paint job that was on it and the big ugly license plate that Honda hung on the rear. He fabricated the rear fender so that the license plate now sits inside the fender and the color we ended up with was a chameleon paint only they had at the time that changes from a bright metallic green to a deep blue, epending on where you stand and how the sun hits it. If you don't like compliments and everyone looking at your bike, his is not the bike for you!
Honda took their engine that is known for still running strong well after 150,000 to 200,000 miles and beefed it up a bit to make this bike. It's engine and drive train are bulletproof while the styling still turns heads more than 10 years later. But this bike is no garage queen. I rode this bike on an Iron Butt ride and it's in the records! While I do not ride it every day, do ride it multiple times every week and that, long with regular maintenance, eeps the hoses and all the internal parts lubricated and in top shape. I'm 57 years old and not a racer, his bike has been well-cared for and never been down. The mileage shown is subject to change - as I stated, ride my bikes! This is a collector's item as there were only 2500 of them made in 2004, t is in the Guiness Book of World Records and it's just all all around fantastic bike.
This particular one is a great bike that does not look like every other Rune but the paint and the fabrication are not gaudy or distasteful (and let's face it, ith only 2500 of them made each year for 2 years, ou won't run into a lot of them as it is).
I have the bike listed for sale locally as well so I reserve the right to cancel the auction at any time.
As an added note: I just took this bike to Orange County Honda, ad it checked over from top to bottom and had the oil changed on August 3, 015.
