Description

Up for Auction is my 1970 CT70H. It is the 4 speed model and it is fantastic fun to ride! I have restored 3 of these motorcycles and this is the last one. One of the bikes is in a Houston Chevy dealership showroom and the other is in Denver tearing up the trails. All of my restorations have been down to bare metal on the frames and everything taken apart and touched. This 4 speed is no different. It is a very, ery good representation of a brand new showroom bike. There are a couple of blemishes and I will point those out.
The frame was in very good shape when I picked the bike up. The frame was sandblasted prepped and painted professionally. The paint is almost flawless. The flaw on the paint is near the key switch on the top of the frame. When installing the threaded ring on the switch the 4 pronged wrench slipped off and marked it. You can see that in the pictures. That is the worst blemish on the bike. The frame decals are brand new along with the tire pressure decal. The side shield badges are the originals. They are the thin aluminum badges that are superior to any of the reproductions that I have used in the past. You can see some patina on those badges and I think it's pretty cool. They are in very good shape, ou can tell they are old and I left them that way. The bright chrome front and rear fenders are new. The old ones were too far gone. The engine guard is the original that I hadre-chromed. The spark plug protector, andle bars and luggage rack are all new as well.
The heart of the Honda CT70 is the horizontal 4 stroke 70cc 4 speed engine. It has beencompletelyre-built. All of the gears were in excellent shape. The gearbox received a new gear selector shaft and a newkick startshaft. The splines were worn on both so I replaced them. The enginereceivednew valves, erformance valve springs and a performance cam. It is still very streetable andgives a nice power boost. The front sprocket is brand new and the rear sprocket was in great shape so I kept it. It is stock gearing. The bike starts with one kick every time. If you know about these vintage Hondas, hey were famous for the first kick start. I ride this bike all of the time in the neighborhood idling in first gear when the kids are riding bikes with me and it never misses a beat. The carb is new and is perfect. The 4 speed gear shifter is the original that wasre-chromedas well as the foot brake pedal.
The tires are new and have a couple of hundred miles on them. The exhaust system is brand new and original Honda. All of the nuts and bolts during the restoration are all original Honda. Honda parts were usedwheneverthey wereavailable. The seat is new and a reproduction but looks great and an original Honda tool kit is fitted underneath. The 6 volt battery is new. The lights, orn and allelectricalwork as they should.
Included in the sale will be a vintage style open face helmet with visor that is a very close match to the paint. Also, here will be a couple or three quarts of Honda 20-50 oil specific for wet clutch bikes of this vintage.
It is a fantastic little machine. I am 6'2'' and 225 lbs. and this bike will move me at 45 mph on a flat road. The 4 speed makes is so much more fun to ride than the automatics. The mileage will change as I ride with the kids 3 or 4 days a week. I am suspecting the mileage on the speedometer is original, ut I have no way to verify it. I did not restore speedometer. It worked fine. All of the brake cables, hrottle cable and speedometer cable are new.
This bike is not titled. It is street legal in the state of Indiana with the aftermarket mirror that I attached. I planned on plating it and titling it, ut things change and never did. It will be sold with a bill of sale.
Buyer will be responsible for pickup or arranging for transport. I will help load from my location if transport is the way it goes. I may deliver if it is areasonabledistance but the cost will be $1.00 per mile out. There is a 500 dollar deposit due viaPaypal48 hours after auction closes. Cash will be required at pickup or contact me with arrangement request via email. There is no warranty orguaranteeexpressed or implied with the sale of the bike. It is sold As-Is.
I know these bikes inside and out, o please feel free to ask questions. I will answer them as soon as I get to them. Also, lease review my feedback and Bid With Confidence! It will be hard to find a much better CT70 4-Speed anywhere. Take a look at the pictures and Thanks for Looking!!
