I have two 1981 CBX'S one is a school bike with 70 miles and the other one has 72,000 miles. The school bike will need the paper work filed for the title, he state recognizes school bikes and it should be easily handled through your DMV once you get the bike. The other CBX has a clean title. The person I bought the bikes from was in the process of removing the engines he was going to put the low mileage school bike engine into the other. I bought the bikes to restore both. The school bike is near mint condition. I have the stock pipes and extra after market pipes, new mono shock with an external reservoir, ew steel braided brake lines; one fairing has the optional gauges etc. The only thing I see missing or damage is one fairing is missing the windshield and light cover, have both original fuel tanks and one extra, he school bike is good but the other two have dents from something dropping on them when he had them stored in his shop. I love the red on the 1979 bikes, ut I have to say I think these 1981 bikes has grown on me. I think they are my favorite out of the four years they were made, specially the re-designed pro link suspension etc. To really appreciate this year go to Jay Leno’s CBX on you tube; any way, o much to list give me a call if you have any questions.
