Description

Classic 1972 Honda CB750 K2 ready for restoration. Frame # CB750-2041270, ngine # CB750E-2048842. From what I’ve read on the SOHC750 forum, hat is a normal vin# spread for a 1972, o this would be the original motor. Decent survivor condition with the potential to turn into a very good looking motorcycle once restored. This could be your affordable ticket into the world of CB750 restoration, ut realistically, s with any restoration expect to do a lot of work (and spend some more money) to get it where it needs to be. Opening bid ($999.00) is also the reserve, o the bike will sell to the high-bidder.

Some issues I noted during my limited, on-professional inspection of the bike. You should be able to see all of this in the photos:

- Needs headlight, rim ring and all other associated hardware as these were missing when I bought bike. The bike had a Vetter fairing mounted at one point according to previous owner. Bike does include original front turn signals. Rear turn signals are mounted on remote brackets – it appears the bike may have had saddlebags at some point, ence the brackets.

- The bike has what appears to be a period ‘Harley’ rear wheel conversion which includes rear shock mount extensions that bolt onto the stock swing arm where the shocks were originally mounted. I believe this is a purely bolt-on affair and easily removed. See the close-up photo of the rear wheel. I also believe the rear rim is laced to the stock hub so you would only need a factory rim and new spokes to return the wheel to stock.

- Dent/gouge on rear fender and dent and scrape on tip of front fender.

- Ignition switch assembly not on bike, ut one is included, long with another assembly. Does come with key.- LH side exhaust passenger peg mount has some rot. Right side looks much better and seems intact. Baffles are missing.

- Both side covers are cracked. One could probably be repaired, ut the other has missing pieces and may be too far gone. The better one still has the mounting tabs intact.

- Only notable surface rust I see on bike is in and around the battery box and also around exhaust header nuts, ut those are usually pretty easy to clean up. Also some rust showing on rear wheel rim, ut I’m assuming that would be replaced anyways. Front rim has some very light surface rust showing in a few spots, ut is not pitted and should clean up easily with polish and steel wool.

- Inside of tank is smelly and gunky with rust. However, etal seems solid on the underside and seams so should be restorable. Tank also has a few small indents near the front of the tank.

Positives as I see them:

- Overall bike is very corrosion free for a project bike. It doesn’t seem like this bike spent much time outside. See pictures.

- Turns over easily on the kick start. I heard the bike run when I bought it as previous owner had it hooked up to a remote fuel bottle. It ran a little rough, ight not have been firing on all cylinders, r maybe carbs were dirty, ut it didn’t make any strange or worrisome noises or rattles I could hear. To the best of my knowledge, ike was last registered and run on the streets in 2007.

- Engine paint seems to be very intact with no flaking or missing paint that I could see.

- Chrome instrument holders and fork ears in excellent condition. Instruments also are nice and clear, ith the usual fading to the redline portion, ut no age cracking you usually see.

- Fork gaiters are surprisingly not torn.

- Seat is in nice shape for its age, ut still, ould use new chrome trim and strap restored at which point you might as well just replace the cover too.

- Bike hasn’t been hacked or chopped and is still stock, ith the exception of the rear wheel mod and missing parts noted above.

- Frame paint looks good.

- I do not see any oil leaks of any kind. Underside of bike looks clean.

- Pretty low miles at 19,541.

- This is an earlier model CB750, ith the early style tank stripes. I believe the ‘72s still had the more open, igher performance air box like the 1970 and ’71 models, ut did have the more restrictive HM341 exhaust of the later models.

Clear title in previous owner’s name in my possession, igned and dated by previous owner. I will also include the two ignition assemblies and key, he front turn signals, hat appears to be the factory horn, nd some cast clamps that I have no idea what they are for.

Bike is sold as is where is with no warranty expressed or implied. I will assist your shipper with pick-up however I can. Sorry, o international sales. If you have a less than 10 feedback score, ou must contact me before bidding or risk having your bid cancelled.
