1987 Honda CR 500

Due to unforeseen circumstances by the original buyer. this bike is being relisted. 1987 Honda CR 500This bike was part of a small collection I recently purchased. Although I can't tell you much of the history on it. it's solid and is in far above average condition for a 28 year old off road bike. The front tire is brand new. the rear tire appears to have minimal time on it. It features a Renthal rear sprocket. the chain and front sprocket are in nice condition. We recently changed the oil. coolant. the bike has a new air filter as well. The bike runs and shifts as it should and has plenty of compression. The controls all work smoothly with two non-original items being the kill button and the throttle. The grips and front number plate. as well as the plate back rounds are new. The fork boots were removed and cleaned thoroughly. there was no sign of the forks leaking oil. All the remaining plastic is original. the front fender was trimmed at the bottom to clear the pipe. the rear fender had three small holes drilled into it. perhaps for a tool bag. The rear shock seems a bit on the soft side to me. it doesn't leak. the shaft is clean. it is adjustable. The bike also features an FMF pipe and Skyway silencer. The silencer is in excellent condition. the pipe shows minor scraps. but no significant dents. In one photo. you will see that the pipe did have a minor repair of a small crack. The rims are straight on the bike. no cracks. gouges or tire iron marks on either of them. just some minor scratches you would expect to see on a bike of this era. The spokes do show a bit of tarnish and discoloration. but are all in place and tight. The detailed pictures I've posted show the bike as it truly is. exceptionally clean and in great shape after 28 years. Ill be happy to answer any questions you may have.
