Honda 1977 XR 75 Elsinore Vintage Minibike XR75 XR80 Original

Honda Elsinore XR75 1977. A beautiful and mostly factory correct vintage XR 75 for sale. This bike has been in two families its entire life. the first 30 it was owned by the family a local Honda dealer and I bought it from them 8 years ago. Bike has been used exclusively by our family in our back yard. The great thing about this bike is that has the vintage look but will run and perform like a new bike. The 1977 model year was the 1st year of a much improved XR 75 from Honda. It had the longer travel suspension. larger engine and 5-speed transmission among other improvements. I replaced the original (running) engine with a NOS 1981 XR 80 engine this winter (HE01E-5208012). This engine literally has 30 minutes of run time on it (never started until I bought it on eBay of course) and it starts. runs and shifts like a new bike. At the same time of the engine installation I installed a late Honda OEM electronic ignition (stator. flywheel. coil. wiring and CD box) along with a new OEM Keihin carburetor. Exhaust is a NOS replacement from a few years back (some paint scrapes but no dents or rust) and it has aftermarket Boge shocks (originals were leaking but still look nice). Fork works great and doesn’t leak (new seals installed a few years back) although the lower legs are scratched. The tires (it may still have the original front tire but I replaced the rear tire) and brakes are like new as well. At the time of purchase I installed all new OEM sprockets and chain. The frame is undamaged. rust free and original with 90% original paint. Swing arm has all the factory chain guides and guard and has a few scratches. Gas tank has original paint with some wear and a few small dents – inside is completely rust free. Side covers are original and not broken or cracked although the R side cover has some paint on it (have no idea how or why) – see picture. Seat is like new with firm foam. Chrome on rims is very nice. no rust but they are scratched and have wear. The plastic has normal wear and tear but the fenders are not cracked or broken - front fender is original and extremely expensive to find a NOS replacement. The rear fender was replaced a few years ago with a NOS example. Handlebar is a NOS replacement with OEM grips and levers. This XR needs absolutely nothing except a new home. In summary the bike has an excellent patina with normal wear but functions and rides like new. As you can see I’ve put a lot of time and expense into this vintage mini-bike. The XR doesn’t have a title so a bill of sale (eBay forces you to enter something - dirt bikes weren't titled in Iowa until about 15 years ago) will be the necessary paperwork. The parts alone are probably worth more than I’m asking for the bike but I don’t want to part it out. If you are interested in the original engine please contact me.
