1989 HONDA GB500 Cafe Racer

This is a nice. original Honda GB500 I have personally owned for about eight years. At the time of purchase it had been sitting for an unknown period of time. so it was treated to a carb clean. nbsp;new spark plug. new battery. oil and filter change and a fuel tank flush. After ensuring the bike was in good running condition it received an NOS silencer to replace the scratched original. nd new mirrors. The bike has always been a fun reliable machine. The GB500 loves two lane twisty roads. and gets admiring looks and comments where ever it goes. It manages to combine Japanese reliability with classic British looks in a great. usable package. Only produced for two years and never sold in high numbers. these bikes have become a cult classic and continue to go up in value. It has both electric and kick start (for when you feel the need for a little vintage motorcycle experience or if the battery gets weak). Disc brake up front and drum at the rear. The engine is based on the tried and true Honda XR 600. and has a reputation for being bulletproof. A fun bike. and probably the most practical "Cafe Racer" ever produced. The condition is what I would consider a very nice rider. It's not so perfect you would be afraid to ride it. but it does have a evidence of use. The defects I can find include:-Small ding in fuel tank at right front lower side. About the size of a dime right along the pinstripe. You have to look for this but its there. -A few scratches on the fork lowers. Again. small but there. -Seat cowl has a crack developing at the mounting holes. This is present on almost all of these bike that I've seen. These are small flaws. but in the interest of complete disclosure I want to draw them to your attention. Included with the bike is the complete original factory tool kit. the original owners manual. and the factory shop manual. Turn signals. footrest rubbers. handlebar grips are all original. The only items not factory are tires. mirrors and battery. Overall a good. clean. original example but NOT showroom zero miles perfect. This is a gently used twenty five year old bike with 8000 miles on it. No oil leaks. tires are good. and battery is good. Oil and filter has been changed recently (500 miles or so ago).
