In 1987 Motocross Action applauded Honda's new CR250RH as the best choice in the ultra-competitive 250 class. The bike had just benefitted from a major redesign. with more motor. revolutionary new 43mm Showa cartridge forks and bulletproof reliability. By now. most of them have been ridden into the ground by their tenth. twelfth or twentieth owners; there have been few survivors. Many now get expensively resurrected for EVO-class MX and good ones are very sought-after. This bike was sold new here in Denver and it's first owner rode it for a couple of years before putting it in his parent's basement when he left for Iraq. He had added the blue Sun rims (fashionable at the time. and much stronger than the Japanese originals). Pro Circuit pipe. aluminum boost canister and alloy bars. Fortunately he came back. but got busy with his life and the bike stayed where it was. Twenty years later a friend got it out and had the engine professionally rebuilt with a new cylinder. piston. bearings. pump seals. nbsp;etc. etc. (There was no corrosion in the pump housing) The forks and shock were gone through by a suspension tuner and got new springs. On reassembly. the bike got all new hoses. chain & sprockets. brake pads. nbsp;FMF spark arrestor/silencer. Boysen reeds. clutch springs & plates. UNI filter. suspension linkage and more. The bike was given a couple hours of break-in time and. parked in his basement while business and family were focused on. The original plastic is amazingly free from fade. brittleness or cracks. The whole bike feels tight and solid; it starts right up. shifts great and runs like a rocket. There are no dents in the pipe or any leaks. There are a couple small cuts in the seat cover near the base and it will need tires--the original front Bridgestone isn't worn much. but is way too old to ride on. Bike has a Bill of Sale--no title--and will not disappoint any knowledgeable Honda CR guy. It is being sold for just about what was spent on its rebuild. so don't miss this opportunity. $500 deposit via PayPal immediately. balance by certified funds that must clear before any pick-up. I have a friend who transports bikes all across the country for U-Ship and can arrange a preferential rate. Questions? Call me (303) 877-6477. Bike is sold AS-IS. without warranty (just like when it was sold new). You are welcome to arrange a local inspection of it at my home.
