For auction I have one{1} 1980 Maico MC450 Mega 1,frame #3471673,engine #RT3481437.Frame has been sandblasted and repainted red with clearcoat,new Timken steering stem bearings installed.Front forks have been disassembled,cleaned, eassembled with new seals and Maxima 10wt oil.Crotch Rocket Factory 1981 type extended lengthalloy rear swingarm.Axle is set at 81 length now {+1"}and can go another 1".Fox Shocks have been professionallyrebuilt by vintage Maico/Husqvarna Guru and 5-time national#1 540cc pro hillclimberPaul Pinsonnault,new seal kits,new braided stainless remote hoses from Thor Lawson,bump stops,powdercoated springs,decals, resh oil and nitrogen.These shocks were bought new for this application,they are sprung and valved correctly.New EBC grooved front brake shoes,NOS Maico rear shoes.Front brake backing plate upgraded toaluminum double web type,stock was single web magnesium.Sun/Hallman gold anodizedalloy rims,front has new stainless steelspokes from Buchanans,rear wheel features a Meryls Pro Spoke Kit,using heavier gauge stainless steelspokes that wrap around the hub and lace in a4-across pattern,strengthening the hub,please see photo.Both front and rear wheels were done by Paul also.A Wheelsmith fiberglass seat base replaces the stockplastic.New gripper seat cover and foam,installed with stainless steel staples.Magura levers and originalDB6M magnesiumthrottle, ed Oury grips.Cables are newbest quality Venhill from the UK,Teflon lined,red vinylouter housing.New DEP pipe and alloy silencer,pipe has been silver metallicceramic coated inside and out,by Central Connecticut Coatings of East Hartford,CT for lasting good looks and heat retention,for additional HP.It will not rust or discolor like Nickel plating,and is much easier to keeplooking new.New glossy red injection molded plastic fenders,side panels,front plate.Foxplate backgrounds.Tank is the original Acerbis,wet sanded and buffed.New Acerbis all metal petcock.NOS Meister products tank decals.New Michelin S12 rear tire and Dunlop D754Ffront,new tubes and rim bands.Best quality PBI alloysprockets,13/56 original ratio.Rear sprocket is the new style that is machined to fit the Maicohub properly.RK top of the line 9500lb tensileGB520 MXU O ring goldchain.New TwinAir filter with metal inner cage,handmade by Paul.Engine has been gone through by Paul,with all original Maico parts,including an NOS 1st overMahle piston and ring in a rebored cylinder.Paul did his modifications to the clutch, nd updated and rejetted the 40mm Bing carburetor.Stainless steel case and cover screws were added,and an updated exhaust manifold that uses a single retaining spring.Folding tip shift lever.Internal rotor Motoplat,NGK B8EGV plug.Will include a new pair of{not shown}red fork boots,and tank buffing/polishing completed.The tank decals have not been installed permanently yet,and will not be unless the motorcycle sells.I am doingmost of myriding on the street these days,and have decided to sell.NADA book valuefor a STOCK bike in good condition is $5130as ofthis writing,and has risen steadily every year,over the past few years.This was one of Paul and Rickys race bikes back in the day,and has the periodcorrect aftermarket parts and modifications.Off road vehicle will be sold on a bill of sale only.Thankyou for looking and good luck bidding.Please feel free toask questions or call {413}205 8166 anytime.$500.00 deposit due at auctions end,balance within 7 days.I can help arrange shipping or assist the carrier of your choice,buyer is responsible for all shipping costs.
