Kawasaki Indian Drifter 800

Hello. This is my 2000 Kawasaki Drifter Indian tribute bike. I purchased this bike a year ago and invested quite a bit into it to try and give it the look of a real vintage Indian chef motorcycle. Obviously I understand I will never get all my money back. that is the nature of the beast when customizing motorcycles. but what you get here is a great bike that is mechanically sound with many new parts. The seat I had custom made by Corbin the leather used is the same as the tan on the new Indian bikes currently in production. The grips are wrapped in genuine Indian motorcycle covers; the floorboards are also lined in genuine Indian covers. The headlight is a new reproduction Harley lamp to match the 1950’s time period as well as the luggage rack. The saddlebags are exact reproductions on the Indians of the 1940’s. The silver fender tips and mirrors are also exact 1940’s reproductions. The front fender Indian chief is a brand new reproduction as well. The air box cover has a beautiful fully painted Indian brave sculpture. The battery and sprocket have been replaced as well as brand new Metzler whitewalls. I think the price I am asking is fair and I am only selling so I can invest in a new project. Below I will attach an exert about the drifter and how it came to be as well as the original promo video (I think it is hilarious). The Drifter was the result of a discussion between Ken Boyko. Don Emde. son of Indian legend Floyd Emde and John Hoover of Kawasaki. Retro motorcycles were becoming the rage and the question was posed "What would a modern up-to-date Indian look like and what kind of technology would it have?" They had Vincent Renaldi do a drawing and enlisted Denny Berg of Time Machines Inc. to build such a machine. They gave him a 1500cc Vulcan motor and the drawing and turned him loose. The final result was a motorcycle called the "Super Chief". which was taken to several shows in 1996/97 and was such a hit with the riding public that Kawasaki took the Super Chief to Japan and put it into production. Due to patent law they couldn't use the Chief moniker and up until its release the name had not been settled on. The Drifters are intended to be a "tribute" to the 1948 Indian Chief and so closely resembles the Indian Chief of the late 1940s that the uninitiated mistake it for an "old" Indian. The Super Chief was featured in several motorcycle magazines. An article in Rider magazine quoted the creators as saying that "the object of the exercise had been to marry classic Indian styling with contemporary technology in order to create a motorcycle which one might have expected Indian to manufacture had it still been in existence at the time the project was launched".
