1939 Indian Scout 45I bought this motorcycle from a gentleman that had owned it for 66 years. Mileage is unknown but It was well loved and enjoyed by him. He was a mechanic and enjoyed racing motorcycles in his younger days. The day I bought it he kicked it over and rode it up the street and back at 89 years old! I. unfortunately will not be able to ride again due to my bad back. so I have decided to sell this motorcycle. I have a clear Kansas title in my name. The bike starts and rides fine. gears shift fine. It needs a new battery but will start with a charger. The left tank leaks gas so I only use the right side. Does not leak oil! I bought reproduction tanks from Jerry Greers and they are nice. beautiful shape and made of thick gauge steel. I was impressed! I had planned to completely restore this bike but I realize they are only original once. Here is the bad. the speedometer system is missing. gauge. cable. nbsp;mounts. drivegear. Featherface horn. original taillight . Front Indianhead light and has straight pipes on it. The rest is all good! The tank and fenders were repainted in the 70's everything else looks original! You can still see the Indian logo on the seat. I will include the tanks with the bike as well as the front brake. he removed it when he was racing in Dodge City as a young man. Shipping will have to be arranged by the winner and I will help as I can with the shipper. Good luck on the bidding you are buying a piece of history! You can call for more information. Bob 316 295 0065. This auction may be ended at any time as this bike is listed for sale locally for $25. 00I did not mention the motor has no serial numbers and the case has not been tampered with. the owner thought it had a factory replacement motor. A ebayer mentioned he thought it was a 741 but I don't know. the frame serial number begins with 639xxxxx and matches the title. it still runs fine! I just want to be honest about this bike if you have any questions please call ! Thanks! On Mar-03-15 at 15:19:55 PST. seller added the following information: Since it has been bid on ebay I have decided to pull it off craigslist locally so whoever is the highest bidder owns it! Several people have gave me information on the engine apparently it has a 741 motor. which the owner said it had been replaced. Im adding pictures of the engine to show it. Also it had not been started in about a year and the right tank had a lot of dirt in it so Ive unhooked it and used the left to run it. stuck some epoxy on it so someone here in Wichita could hear it run. lets face it the tanks need to be changed
