Very clean 1999 VN750. Starts right up, uns good, ooks good.
I bought this bike as a project because it only had 7000 miles on it. The speedo works and it is very clean. So, would say the miles are true. It had been sitting in a garage for some time and needed new tires from dry rot.It is very clean. The only rust is on the crash bar and the tail light. There are surface scratches in the top of the tank. Not bad, ut visible. They might buff out, ut no guarantees. They're too small to show in the pics, ut you see them in person. The seat has a tear by one button. There is no tool box, nd it is missing the left side cover.
It has new tires, ront and rear. Never driven on the road. A new battery, his month. Fresh oil and filter. 0 miles since changed. New spark plugs, ew fuel lines, resh brake fluid, ew coolant. New diaphragm and o rings in the petcock.
I did all this and then found out the house we're renting has been foreclosed on and we have to move on very short notice. So, he bike has to go before I even registered it. I have ridden it once around the block. Ran good, o smoke, ots of power. However the float valve was sticking in the rear carb. I cleaned the carbs, ut you will have to replace the needles and seats. I just didn't get to it. It has since worked correctly. However, ince the design on these bikes lets excess fuel drain directly into the cylinders, hey really should be replaced before riding it. As it sits, t starts up immediately, dles fine and runs good. The return throttle cable sticks a little. It will occasionally not snap back all the way to idle. A slight touch of the throttle, rings it right back. It is still usable, s it is, ut I think the cables may need to be replaced. The sending unit in the tank does not work. The fuel gauge works fine, ut the sending unit will need to be replaced. All of the hoses, ntakes, ilters are OEM and in place.
Immediately after I bought this bike, nd before I even put a battery in it, saw a complete engine on craigslist and bought it for potential spares. I didn't need any. The engine in the bike is complete and runs fine. I never heard the spare engine run. However, t is very clean with seemingly good compression. The right side cover and the drive gear were off the spare engine when I got it, ut I have them. The engine is included in the price of the bike.
Very little TLC and this bike is back on the road.
