1989 KAWASAKI KLR 650 Dual Sport Adventure Bike ULTRA LOW Mileage READY TO RIDE

Up for adoption here is a very NICE 1989 KAWASAKI KLR 650 with over $1500 in mods/extras and a ridiculously low 6K ORIGINAL miles, n EXCELLENT RUNNING condition - ready for summer dual sport fun or adventure touring! This is a 49-state bike, bought it in Georgia in 1998 from the original owner who had obviously not ridden it very much, replaced the water pump and then moved back to California a few years later, here I added a WORKS PERFORMANCE rear shock ($800, pretty much the best you could buy at that time), ROGRESSIVE SUSPENSION front fork springs, UPERTRAPP IDS2 high-performance muffler, &N air filter, YNOJET carb jetting to suit, nd a super heavy duty aluminum bash plate made by I can't remember who... More recently I replaced the factory tires with set of NEW METZELER TOURANCE dual sport tires which have less than 200 miles on them, till showing the mold "nubs" on the tread! It also has a new battery, long with a tank bag and KLR soft luggage that I got thinking I would actually have time to use the bike as originally intended and do some dual sport riding this summer... Reality has since sunk in, realize now that ain't gonna happen (the usual excuses, oo many other motorcycles and too much life getting in the way), o it needs to find a new home. Mechanically this bike is rock-solid - which is as it should be, ince in truth it has not gone that far beyond break-in mileage! This is probably the nicest 1989 KLR anywhere on the planet, nd of course year of manufacture is not all that relevant since Kawasaki made essentially the same bike for almost 20 years, nd even the newer models are not significantly different. This one has always been garaged, ever abused or ridden hard off road, ires right up at the touch of the button, ulls like a freight train, lutch, ransmission and brakes all work as they should, ll electrics functioning perfectly. Obviously the suspension is VASTLY improved over stock, nd the combination of the SuperTrapp race can and DynoJet carb mods totally transform this bike, rom the typical stock KLR sewing-machine persona to a rip-snorting snarling beast when you get it on the main jet. If you ride aggressively you'll have to pay attention if you want to keep the front tire in contact with the ground! ​ Overall cosmetic condition is EXCELLENT, s you can see in the photos below - it almost looks like it just rolled off the showroom floor! All bodywork is original, ome very slight sun-fading on the blue plastic fairing and front fender, teel tank has a small ding on the left side as shown, therwise EXCELLENT, actory paint still has a super nice high gloss sheen to it, eat is perfect with NO holes or tears in the cover - this bike is super clean from stem to stern!

There are only a couple of flaws to point out: the blue plastic front fork gaiters have some cracks, orse on the right side, ery small on the left, hey should probably be replaced before doing any serious offroad mileage to protect the fork tubes, nd the tool tray cover and toolkit are missing (it came to me this way). That's pretty much it! The sprockets & chain are original, hain could use cleaning but the sprockets show NO wear, ast oil & filter change was around 700 miles and a couple years ago. Clean CALIFORNIA title in my name and current registration good through November 2015 - if you're here in the golden state there will be NO back fees or penalties to register in your name, ust title transfer and away you go! If you're out of state, ly in to San Jose airport and ride this bike to Alaska, ierra del Fuego, r anywhere else you want to go! Bonus - original factory KLR600 service manual included! If I didn't have 3 other 400-650cc dual sport bikes in the garage (none of which receive the love and attention they deserve) there is no chance I would EVER consider selling this bike, nd I know I'LL MISS IT WHEN IT'S GONE!! What this means to you is that, f it ends up in YOUR garage, ou will be VERY HAPPY!!!
