Sorry the pictures aren't great. All I could find was this little pink barbie camera.
Traded my dad an old Moto Guzzi for this bike. I've put a few hundred miles on it--running errands mostly. I'm selling it because it just isn't my style. I respect it for what it is, ut I'm not a voyaging person. I do 50-mile rides mostly, nd am content to let my wrists go numb and my butt ache on my Ninja 1000 for the couple long trips I do in the summer.
It's a good bike. Starts up and runs well. It's a traditional Japanese in-line four with great horsepower--not pretending to be a Hawg. You can pretty much embarrass anything on 4 wheels with it. For being over 800# wet, t is very nimble. I changed the clutch frictions and springs this summer as it was slipping and the tires are only a couple hundred miles old. Very comfortable bike. Just engage the cruise control, it back and watch the world scroll past. The kids wanted to wax it, o I let them and they forgot about the wax-off portion. I figure nobody will steal it looking like it has some kind of disease. I rub some off once in a while. This bike has never been crashed or even fallen over, t least not that my dad has confessed to. No signs of it that I can see.
Here are all the bad things I know of: The radio doesn't turn on and I don't know why, or care. In my opinion something is wrong with you if don't get enough out the the sounds of those 4 carbs sucking air. I'm sure you can fix it if you want to demonstrate the Doppler Effect to yourneighborswith you old Haggard tapes.There is a small chrome cover missing off one side of the engine. I didn't notice it until I was trying to take pictures of it today. Also, he top box seems a little floppy. It's secure, ut might be missing a bolt or something. There is a screw with the head twisted off on the clutch cover. It doesn't leak or anything. I did it when I changed the clutch. I meant to fix that (there is a lot of bolt left. I use a MAPP torch to heat it, hen a tiny pipe wrench will turn it out. Better than vice grips--that's a free tip for you), hen decided I'd rather try out the new clutch and fix it later, o I slapped the old gasket back on and took off--and 50 miles later, ecided that I was correct--much better to ride it than work on it. I have a new gasket for it, nd a new spring washer as the old one has a couple legs missing. Works fine, nd will go for years as it is. There are a couple other little things--missing the cover for one of the vents in the dash and the tank cover thing looks to be missing a screw.
I would not hesitate to jump on this bike and ride it anywhere. It gets ridden several times a week, nd with almost 90,000 miles on it, t's been everywhere pretty much coast to coast. The new is well rubbed off and you don't have to worry about polishing it or avoiding gravel roads.
