Description

1969 Kawasaki A7 350 Avenger / American Eagle "Savage"
Engine #: A7E-16881
Frame #: A7-18084
Personal reasons force the sale of this unusual and rare Kawasaki.
Up for auction is this American Eagle "Savage” A7 Kawasaki that was produced in very limited numbers in 1969 only. For more details about the history of American Eagle click Here (http://a1a7.com/forum/index.php?topic=12.0)
What you are looking at is a factory new A7 Kawasaki. This bike was never sold from the dealership that had it. It is essentially an NOS bike from an old dealer inventory in California’s Central Valley. It shows 2.1 miles on the original clocks and the condition of the motorcycle makes it clear that the mileage is accurate. Kawasaki fired up and tested all bikes before they left the factory and it is likely that most of the mileage shown is from the factory test and then from being pushed around for 47+ years….. The bike has not been started but it has been titled and is currently registered as “Non-Op” with a California plate. The title is in my name.
General Condition:
Look closely at the pictures below - especially the close ups. All of the surfaces are factory original. None of the nuts, olts or screws show any signs of having ever been touched by tools. There is light pitting on a few of the chrome parts but it is not bad at all and will clean up easily. I connected a battery and the CDI boxes buzzed as they should, he lights all work (headlight, ail light, auges neutral & high beam ) as does the horn. Compression is as new. The clutch works correctly but the plates are stuck together from sitting. The bike shifts up through the transmission normally. The original tires look great are not weather checked or cracked.
The Bodywork:
None of the original American Eagle fiberglass bodywork was with the bike when it was found. It does have all of the other American Eagle parts in excellent / NOS condition including: engine side cases, auges, eat and even a set of American Eagle keys! After searching for a very long time I finally located a complete set of used American Eagle fiberglass bodywork in great shape. Its very rare to find and was expensive to buy. It will need some work to be functional but it is included with this sale. Please don't ask for the fiberglass set separately.
Several NOS (or excellent condition used) parts had been added to replace the missing fiberglass bodywork and convert the bike back to being a regular Kawasaki A7. This includes a late model stainless steel rear fender and tail light. The gas tank is a dealer take off and is a 1971 color scheme. It is clean inside and nearly perfect however you can see it has a little ding on the right rear corner near the seat and some light shelf wear. There is no fuel petcock. The white oil tank is a 1970 unit and is in excellent condition. Everything else is original to the bike.
This bike will be a real pleasure to the new owner - no disappointments. Restore the body work included and have an as new American Eagle or complete its conversion back into an NOS A7 Avenger…this difficult choice will now be for someone else to make. Either way, hen will you ever see a new Avenger again?
I am happy to answer any questions you may have or take pictures of any component just let me know. There are a lot of pictures in the body of the auction - it may take a while to load.
Cheers!
