Impossibly rare, apan import SILVER 2000 Kawasaki ZX12R (not available in the US in 2000). Only one left in the US that hasn't been destroyed or in a state of disrepair. This is the ZX-12R prominently displayed in all the 'greatest hits of Kawasaki' books so if you're a museum or collector it would make me very happy if this went to someone who plans to care for it the same way I have.
8,806 miles (14,172 km). One owner; ME.
I've had this bike since it had .1km on the clock.
In 1999 when this bike was announced I decided I was going to get a silver one. Unfortunately they didn't offer silver in the US at the time. I committed to the task of acquiring one no matter how difficult it proved to be. After some cajoling (and great expense) I finally found a dealer willing to bring one in for me.
I followed thegrueling(read; excessive) 2,000 mile break-in PRECISELY as it was vitally important for getting all the power out of the brilliant, rilliant engine. This bike is like a Swiss watch. Since day one I've treated it like it was made of gold. It has never been dropped, recked, icked, amaged, pent a night outside or ever had so much as a drop of water touch it. For most of the time I've owned it it's been kept in my front living room.
The only mods I performed were pretty standard; added a Two Brothers Titanium can, PC3R, rass 38mm velocity stacks from Bear Engineering to put back what the gentlemen's agreement took away, tiffer clutch springs to eliminate slip, ut heat shield between the motor and airbox to eliminate heat soak, dded a now highly illegal disappearing license plate cover and stainless turn signals that do double duty as frame sliders. The clutch basket and angled valve stem 'campaigns' were performed (I took them the parts - no one has worked on or touched this bike but me EVER).
If you don't care for any of these mods I have all of the original bits. Within an hour this bike could go back to bone, howroom stock.
The rubber intake boots on the throttle bodies (or 'velocity stacks') were how the bike was de-tuned to keep it under 200 mph after the agreement was made between Kawasaki and Suzuki. Their method was discovered when a tuner took apart a factory neutered French bike and noticed that the way they were detuning French bikes was to add washers to the inside of the intake to limit air flow. After changing out the reduced diameter rubber boots for the original spec brass versions provided by Bear Engineering I went out with a GPS and immediately logged 201.32 mph on my first try. It has the stock gearing and the speedo that goes to 340 kmh (This was one year only - they did away with this in 2001). I did replace the 200 rear tire with a 190 for the sake of handling - so if you want go over 200 mph for any reason you'll need to put the taller 200 rear tire back on. The moral of the story is the 2000 ZX12R will absolutely go over 200 mph. This one does and has on several occasions.
I just completed a top to bottom inspection of every fluid and serviceable part;
New Diablo Supercorsa SP V2 tires. They are brand new and only have less than 50 miles on them. Rebuilt the front forks. Replaced the front and rear brake pads as well as the brake and clutch fluid. New clutches. Oil and filter. Replaced the spark plugs with factory spec. Cleaned the K&N air filters. Flushed the cooling system and refilled with engine ice. Cleaned, axed and adjusted the new chain. Replaced the front and rear wheel bearings. Replaced the battery with a Lithium Ion (saves about 11 pounds).
It's mechanically flawless in every way, hape and form. I would get on this 12R and aim for 200 without hesitation. It needs absolutely nothing. You don't even have to check the air pressure in the tires.It's ready to go.
Comes with 3 keys (2 that still have the rubber slip covers), wners manual, ll the original take off parts (signals, oots, actory can, tc), he silver ZX-12R coffee table book they gave to anyone who bought the bike new and the completely impossible to find poster that has a silver 2000 12R on it and the tag line "Oh my God is in the details" (its so obscure there aren't even pictures of it on the internet).
FRONT AND REAR STANDS INCLUDED.
Always, lways, lways kept indoors under cover. I wax it routinely with Zymol Concours (it's $200 for 8 ounces and has to be applied with your bare hands). No ZX-12R on earth has been cared for more. No one other than me has ever touched this bike. No one else has sat on the seat, ouched the bars or so much as laid a finger on it. I'm completely OCD and extremely protective. This bike has never even gotten wet - not once - it's also never spent a night outside or lost a race to a Hayabusa.
This is the rarest ZX12R in the US, t is absolutely 100% mechanically flawless and if you wad it up, t cannot be replaced at any price.
In case you need a reminder of which bike was actually the faster in real life and not just in the brochure:

IMPORTANT: I'm a dealer so if you're in Ohio I have to collect sales tax and do the paperwork for you. If you're a resident of Arizona, alifornia, lorida, ndiana, assachusetts, ichigan or South Carolina the bike must be picked up and delivered by a shipping company otherwise I am required to collect state tax.
For sale locally so I reserve the right to end the listing at any time - which is a distinctpossibility. I also reserve the right to not sell it to you if you're a terrible person and I think you're going to destroy it.
