Description

Up for your consideration is a hand-built café racer based on a 1977 Kawasaki KZ 750 twin. It’s a head-turner and attracts attention wherever it goes. It features a factory 55 HP augmented by a heat-wrapped 2 into 1 header with a shortened and re-baffled muffler allowing for a reasonable noise level at idle and slow cruise with a great bark under hard acceleration. The carbs have been re-worked to match the free flowing exhaust and individual air filters. She will run the ton as any café racer should. The forks have been fitted with emulators and progressive springs with adjustable nitrogen charged shocks out back. The whole bike was disassembled with every nut and bolt cleaned prior to reassembly. The tank and frame were taken to bare metal and re-sprayed in a factory Chrysler color (Intense Blue Pearl) allowing for easy touch up for the inevitable scratches any bike meant to be ridden will get. The seat pan is a fiberglass piece molded from a one-off aluminum unit made for a 50 year old racer. painted to match the tank with the stripes running all the way through. Rearsets are not available for this model. so they were fabricated along with custom shift linkage and brake pedal to give it the correct vintage racer riding position to go with the chrome ace handlebars. The factory gauges were kept since they are the most reliable. but were set in a modified aluminum mount to eliminate the clutter of the warning lights and keys. The key was relocated to a discreet location under the leading edge of the tank. A Goodridge stainless brake line is fitted to maximize front disc brake feel and power. The electronics and battery have been hidden to a pan under the seat to retain the convenient electric start but allow for the clean and uncluttered look that this type of bike is known for. Bar-end mirrors are installed to maintain the low profile while allowing for full rearward visibility. Included are the service manual. front fender. inner rear splash shield. and center stand. I think it looks better without them. but they are nice to have. This one-of-a-kind bike is well sorted and will give some lucky owner miles and miles of good times in the twisties. and it will never get lost in a parking lot. A $1000 deposit is due within 24 hours of purchase. with the balance to be paid within 7 days. You can use cash or certified check for final payment. I can deliver it for a fee ($. 60/mile). or will work with your chosen shipper.
