1978 Kawasaki KZ1000

1978 Kawasaki KZ1000 You are looking at a beautiful example of an “almost” original 37 year old 1978 KZ-1000. with 9k+ actual miles. I am the third owner who has purchased it. and has only ridden it a couple times. The second owner bought from the original owner in Michigan last fall. cleaned it up and then watched the snow fall…. ! I had a great idea and big plans to restore it. spend my weekends riding and showing it off with our local motorcycle club. So…. after recently purchasing it and having it shipped and titled in Florida…! I found that I just don’t have time. patience. and the room in my garage to do so. I am not an cyclist by any means. but. …. I can tell you that for a 37 year old bike it runs perfect. just what you would expect for a motorcycle it age. Everything works as it should. clutch transmission. engine. lights. brakes. horn. etc…! The bike came with an immaculate new black paint job with clear coat. it has on very minor ½” X 1/8” paint flaw where the gray primer shows on the rear fender. I think it might have happened in shipping (it is the only flaw in the paint so I had to mention it). It came with new front and rear tires balanced to perfection. rides smooth. no vibrations drives straight. true. and smooth. This bike has a lot of pep. and runs great. Since I do not know a lot about bikes. just the memory of my older brother and there friends having them. I believe much of the bike is original! It does show it’s age. it by no means is new. there is some light pitting. light scratching. and scuffs in some of the chrome. but still looks good and shines. The seat is a soft vintage patina and does have a few small scuffs. but is super comfortable. and is fine. Engine is super clean; it looks to be touched up with silver paint on the fins and top cover. The engine side covers look polished. and the mufflers show signs of age but are still in very good shape. If you are looking for an older untouched. unmolested. vintage head turner. this is the cycle for you to enjoy as an everyday rider. to restore to original condition. or to start your street racer.
