Kawasaki KZ1000 Motorcycle Currently Registered Needs a Little Work Project Bike

I have this Kawasaki KZ1000 motorcycle that I found in a storage locker that was originally licensed till 2010. I re-registered it at the DMV and it's tags are now current until April 20th. 2015 and it has a new license plate. I don't have the keys but the kick starter turns over easily. I was told it has a custom front fork and disc brakes on both sides of the front wheel. DMV didn't know exactly what year it was but from the VIN number I would guess it's a 1979. No major dents or dings except the back fender is cracked. Instrument cluster has been damaged. Looks like it fell over maybe. Front brakes are leaking a little bit of fluid. I'm thinking the previous owner stopped driving it when it fell over and the speedometer broke off. It's probably going to be a really easy restoration project for someone. The storage locker was dry and I was told by the facility manager the unit had been abandoned for 4 years before they auctioned it off. Other than that I really don't know much about it. I'm in the San Francisco Bay Area and I could deliver it within a couple hundred miles if you pay for my gas and trailer rental. Otherwise you would have to come pick it up.
