Hey There. Okay. Attempt number 3 to sell this on EBAY. I guess I had it listed in the wrong category. I didn't really consider it a vehicle. Again I apologize to previous watchers and bidders. So I found this old Rupp frame a while back and thought "hey this should be easy"! This was my garage project last year and now I'm moving on to something else. The kids are out of college and the grandkids haven't arrived yet so Im looking for a good home for "Blue Betty"As you Rupp guys know these are a cool little bikes. I did this all myself except having the HS40 (with lighting coil) rebuilt. The pictures look good but this is not a show room piece but it's a fair representation I would say. I'm not sure the recoil shroud is the correct one but it fits and the recoil works. I bought an HS40 block and it came without the shroud. I found one in a scrap yard. The rims. tank. and handle bars are painted silver. Along with frame paint it was done by me in my garage and it's not perfect but I think it looks okay. Several of the parts and pieces were found online. Many of the parts are new but some used. The engine as I said was rebuilt by a shop and it runs good. It smokes a little because the valves haven't seated real tight yet. The carb is aftermarket and new. I think the carb should be a better grade because the needle valve sticks a bit. It's ran for less than an hour total last fall. The tank was cleaned with acid and coated. No leaks. The lights and kill switch all work. I found a used pipe online and had to do a little welding but it doesn't leak and looks pretty good painted black. The front brake is good. The one thing I had trouble with is getting the back wheel brake to sit right. When I set it up so it would hold it grabs and puts pressure on the axel. I'm pretty sure all the parts are in right but it needs someone who knows these things. The clutch is new (aftermarket) as is the belt. Both grab and work great. The chain broke the last time I road it. I think it had something to do with how the back axel was grabbing from the brake. The little sucker really flew down the street. I can send a video of it running if wanted. The cables all work and are used. The seat is nice and an original one. I pretty sure some of the mounting brackets for the guards are incorrect because I fabbed them myself. I know a real mechanic or Rupp guy would have done a better job but I think with a little wrenching and tweeking this will be a super sweet little ride. It's not far off. I have a box of bits and pieces that go with it and length of new chain. I have over $1300 invested in parts not to mention a lot of garage time. Someone is going to get a deal. A rebuilt HS40 with a working coil is almost worth as much as the reserve. I can send more pictures if wanted. PLEASE ask questions. I don't want to misrepresent this. It was put together by a guy whose never done this. I would say its probably 80-85% accurate. I can message you my number if you want to chat about it. Pay pal only. Pick up only. It is located in Chillicothe Ohio. I could meet someone with in a 100 miles or so if it fits my schedule. Good luck.
