You are bidding on a vintage 1965 SIS Sachs v5 cafe racer which was produced in Portugal. This is the only known example of the first year release of this bike know to have been exported to the US. These bikes were highly regarded in their native country and a stamp was actually created to commemorate the model. The 1965 models are highly collectible and much sought after in collectors circles.
This example under went a nut and bolt restoration in 2013-2015 and was used briefly before we decided to install a new piston we had purchased. Upon inspection, e found the engine has a bent rod. The head was bored to .030 over by Riechart Racing Engines in Owosso MI to accept the new Sachs piston. Because the engine is a Sachs 50cc, he rod and bearings are readily available and the bike comes with an engine seal kit. We have other projects going now and have decided to sell this beautiful bike.
The only other known issues with the bike are a small crack in the lower front fork, crease in the Sachs pipe where the kick starter rubbed, mall touch ups for minor scratches and the rear brake light and speedometer need to be connected. All original parts that were not used in the restoration are included in auction. All issues and items are identified in pics and the bike is being sold "As Is". Please contact me with any questions and thanks for looking, im
