Antique Military Bike

Thisunique bike I have registered as a 1968, ut that is not its real year. The real year is unknown to me. I imported this bike from China about 6 years ago. It is the same exact bike as the BMW R71 M1. The history is that this bike was first built by the German's for WW11. It is a BMW 750cchorizontally opposed engine. It is also a BMW 4 speed tranny with heel/toe shifter as well as a suicide shift located between the bike and the side car. It has reverse, ndelectric start as well as kick start. The bike is exactly as it was built in 1938. I also have the genuine Chinese star canvas cover for the side car, s well as the brown leather seat covers. I believe the Chinese got the rights to it in the 1950's. The Russian's used to manufacture a militaryversion of this bike called the Dnepper. It is no longer made, owever they still make a commercial called the Ural. Everything works as it should. However, ight now the idle speed is too high, ndthere is some smoke from the right side. It does have full power. I am not a mechanic, ut I am guessing it would require new pistons rings. Parts for these bikes are readily available from some reliable suppliers in China. I used to ride it with my kids when they were younger...a lot of fun. Keep in mind, his bike was designed for different kinds of terrain, nd is not really a bike for the highway.
