Royal Enfield Model 180 8hp 965cc V-Twin 1921.
Here we have a very rare motorcycle for sale. This is a 1921 Royal Enfield V-Twin. This model was produced using the Vickers V-Twin engine. Several WW1 aircraft companies such as Vickers and Sopwith turned their hand to producing engines after the war and these were quality units. Royal Enfield were one company that used the Vickers engine in their motorcycles.
This motorcycle runs very well indeed, specially for a 94 year old machine. The engine drives through a two speed countershaft assembly which is effectively two clutches that operate when the gear lever is pushed forwards and backwards to engaged the ratios. The bike has a hand start, hich is cranked from the right hand side of the bike.
This is a rare and interesting motorcycle that will certainly add great interest to any motorcycle collection.
