1982 Suzuki RM 125 Z The fastest man on planet earth in the early 1980's on a 125cc motocross bike was Suzuki's Mark Barnett. He won three consecutive AMA 125 National Championships between 1980 and 1982. He also won the 1981. 25cc Supercross Championship and was a rider for team America in the 1983 Motocross des Nations Championship. Mark's Suzuki works bike was cat quick. feather light. and floated across the rugged terrain of the world's motocross tracks on Suzuki's Full Floater suspension. Barnett's performance on the track. made the RM 125Z the hot ticket to grab off the showroom floor from your local dealer. For 1982. Suzuki delivered to the public a revamped RM 125Z. with a replica of Mark's work shock bolted in place. and 11. 2 inches of Kayaba fork travel in the front. creating what to this day is considered the best stock suspension ever offered on a 125cc motocross bike. The 1982 Suzuki RM 125Z won every shootout. the revolutionary suspension. and advanced liquid cooling with a radiator placement that created the lowest center of gravity. was the ingredient for what became one of the greatest motocross bikes of all time. This low hour example has been massaged to appear not in showroom condition. as items are only truly new once. but to present itself in overall excellent condition. with just enough wear to keep it from becoming a 192 lb garage model. Although this bike could. and may very well be just what is missing from your man cave. it could just as easily be used as meant. knifing under the 240 lb slugs on any turn. floating over the whoops. and leaving the buyers of those $10. 00. 00 four strokers scratching their heads. All the plastic is factory Suzuki plastic. no aftermarket knock offs. even the extremely hard to find right side number plate panel is a restored original. new factory decals (which will come off after one ride just like in 1982 :-) new Maxxis intermediate terrain tire. new tubes. new chain. new rear sprocket. new grips. levers. seat cover. chain guides & rollers. restored radiator guard. new air filter. fresh oil. and everything works as should. I have taken it up and down the street. but have not taken this onto the track for the obvious reasons. as one drop and all that nice plastic is now old scratched plastic. This bike is set up pretty neutrally right now. and you will most likely need to dial it in for your weight. body type. position preference and elevation. just as you had to in 1982. But that is half the fun of owning a bike in the first place!! Sold as is. where is. with no warranty or guarantees. . . . aside from your buddies may drool on the tank!
