For sale a GS500F from 2006 with only 10.5k miles. Clean NY title in hand. Selling because I got a new job that won't leave me enough time to ride it.
Good overall condition but would need some small repairs. I messed up the last oil change and as a result it's leaking oil - one of the screws of the oil cover broke loose and you would need to take out the broken stud (or have it repaired). I'm sure someone with reasonable experience maintaining motorcycles wouldn't have any issues fixing all this. I just don't have the time or patience (or parking garage!!).
There is also a very tiny leak going down the side stand from where the gearshift is. The previous owner went to a repair shop and they quoted him about 200 bucks to fix it. This really wasn't a concern before I started messing with it trying to change the oil myself... it's a very small leak and I'm sure you could live with it as long as the oil cover is tightly sealed.
Apart from these small issues, ot much to say - tires are still good, ight benefit from a brake fluid change but still brakes correctly, aint is falling off in some places where the first owner spray painted it black+gas tank where I used to put my chain while riding. The motorcycle ran great the last time I started it. It was a while ago and it's been sleeping under its cover ever since - might have trouble firing it off now.
All in all it's a decent bike for a very decent price. Not your shiny ducati but a good starter bike as long as you can handle the few issues mentioned above. Serious buyers only - you are buying the bike as is and understand that it needs the repairs mentioned above.
Located in Midtown East as of now. As it's leaking quite a lot now, test drive wouldn't be a good idea and I'm not even sure it would start after spending a few months unused. That also means that you would have to come with a truck to pick it up.
Let me know if you have any questions. Comes with its cover and a Kryptonite chain lock (pictured).
Bike is for sale locally, eller reserves the right to cancel auction at any time.
